I have been looking for a relaible study on this. I saw one site that said the opposite. It said the majority of fathers get full custody when they ask for it. Now I cannot find the website, and I am not sure how reliable the source was. I wish Glenn Sack would provide a link to the Stanford study as I cannot find anything to verify (not that I think he is lying, but for the sake of repeating this, I would like to have a direct source) . I think these stats would be very helpful when forming an …

Really? It would not take me more than two seconds to come up with many ways to handle the situation. Allowing myself to be blackmailed and allowing a 26 year old to have sex in my house with my 14 year old daughter is the last thing that would occur. Usually when you have a spoiled child, you have a lazy parent.

I see the part about women having concern about honesty and remembering to take it properly, but men have these same concerns about women. These concerns are legitimate for both genders. I do not see the part about fear of men having control that you speak of. All women I know would love to have male birth control.

My neighbor was awarded full custody after his ex was in contempt so many times. I also know mothers that have been fined or jailed for interfering with father's rights. If he takes his case to the same judge that signed it, he might have better luck. Judge's generally don't like people to go against their orders.

If you google it you will see that mothers have been jailed for interfering with father's rights. In my neighbor's situation, the mother took his kid for a year without providing him with contact or knowing there whereabouts. When she returned the judge punished her by relinguishing her custody. Now my neighbor has full custody and she pays child support to him.

Do you not have a parenting plan signed by a judge? Every parenting plan I know of has a list of traditional holidays and states which parents have the kids on specific holidays. Typically it says mothers have them on Mother's Day and fathers have them on Father's Day. For many parents this is good enough; for parents who need further instruction to reduce drama, the parenting plan can also indicate specific times and how and where the parental transfer will take place, such as "mother will driv…

really, how many father do you know provide 100% of care for their children? I am nor denying that men have a financial burden. I am pointing out that it is not often 100% of the financial needs of the child and fathers are not required to provide physical and emotional care. it's great if they do, but it does not represent the majority.

Men keep acting like they all the responsibility and women have none when a child is born. I am pointing out that it is not true.

So all babies past the point of abortion fully belong to the mother? As biology does not give men the capablity to make babies, right?

Isn't having an abortion a burden? I also do not know unmarried fathers who provide 100% of all financial, emotional and physical needs of the child. so fathers are not normally held for 100% of responsibility.

What about men who want to be fathers and are denied access to their kids? They are claiming the child has a right to both parents. i happen to beleive children have this right as well.

I would like to see stats on how many fathers ask for full custody or 50/50 custody. I would like to see 50/50 custdody without support being paid. more and more fathers are getting full custody these days.

i've never put any energy into fighting for financial abortion for men because it is contradictory to the other stuff we are fighting for like equal parenting rights and our consent needed for adoption. I don't support any policy that is based on equal outcome. I don't like it when feminists do it so i am not going to stoup to their level.

it mentions retro-support. My assumption is that it is from when the kids were younger that he did not pay when he was supposed to. I find it odd that his then wife and mother of the kids was murdered in 2005 (the case was never solved and no suspects) and after that the kids left his home to live with their grandparents.

I think the state is only involved if they distribute the child support. They only do this if a parent is using state assistance such as food stamps. Otherwsise, usually one parent just sends money to the other parent and the state is not involved in record keeping or distributing CS money.

we see women given 92% of child custody in the event of a divorce. That's an obvious bias I know mothers get custody more often, but I also heard that fathers usually get custody when they ask for it. It would be very helpful if there was some reliable source which would indicate how often fathers ask for custody and how often it is granted to them.

The money is only the child's if the father does not owe for back child support. If the mother made up the difference the father did not pay in previous months, then he owes this money to the mother, not the child. Otherwise, it sounds like your saying that someone can borrow money to pay their child support, but shouldn't have to pay it back. I also highly doubt the mother is serious about spending $600 on shoes.

So if you borrow money to buy neccesitites for your child, you shouldn't have to pay it back??

Just to be clear, she has not bought anything yet. She has only made some dumb-ass comment while chating on Facebook. I took her idea of spending $600 on shoe shoes as a fantacy, not reality. Do you guys always take stuff onFacebook this seriously??

i had no idea the women just get the money like that She indicated this was her first child support check ever. Which leads me to beleive she went along time w/o any.

I can't imagine the cops doing anything. All we have is some dumb-ass wise crack on Facebbook. It does not even come close to a crime.

The subject line is incorrect. It should say "mother has made one wise-crack on FB about possibly spending CS money on shoes". Redditors have no idea what the situation might be. This might be the first child support father has paid in years. C'mom mens rights, wait till you have some facts before ya post something.

As far as I know the governement grants and scholarships for single parents are gender neutral.

No, I don't. I see to many women choosing to have babies without fathers. Either they don't know who the father is or they don't care. I also am not sure what you mean by "financial security". Single motherhood puts them into poverty as children generally cost more that what child support or welfare pays them. A similar question would be do you think men will have riskier sex knowing that they will have a safety net if legalized abandonment is accepted into law?

I think most women already are the primary support providers. Most women make up the financial differnce needed to raise a child and provide the majority of emotional and physical health for children.

I think financial abortion arguement falls under the "equal outcome" category. Everytime the issue is brought up MRAs want the equal outcome that abortion provides for women even though MRAs know there is no biological equivelent to a female abortion.

You should check out to see if your insurance convers vasectomy or not. I have had several policies and it has always been covered as long as birth control is covered. Also Planned Parenthood does them very cheaply.

I don't see hypergamy as a problem or males as the "victims". The best men should have access to the best/most women. I see successful men always attracted to hot women. If alpha males are in such demand, and can choose any women they want, why do they always choose the hot ones? Men have an equal say in the women they choose, so there is no way they can be "victims". Also think it is funny that all these dudes complaining of hypergamy are also promoting the purist form of hypergamy which is usi…

If I wasn't scared of loosing everything in a divorce, I wouldn't mind having a stay at home wife taking care of my kids, especially for the first year The choice seems to be either have a parent stay home or pay some one else to watch them. My buddy and his wife had their fist kid and the plan was for his wife to go back to work after 6 weeks, but daycare cost would have been around $1500/month so they decided that she would stay home. So far it is working out. He says they are much happier wit…

There are many pro-life atheist and pro-abortion Christian. I myself am a pro-life atheist. The reason against abortion has to do with the right to life of the unborn child. I know our constitution does not give the fetus the right to life, but morally, I do, To me killing a fetus is on the same moral (or non-moral) ground as infanticide. The only difference between infanticide and abortion is the location of the baby's body wether it is onside or outside of the mother' womb.

Don't snip. I am glad to see circ rates going down. If you are still not sure watch one of the videos on U-tube that shows an actual baby being circumcised.

I agree, I would rather fight for better policies especially in regards to father's rights as in fair opportunities to care for a child. I have mentioned this several times at MRM sites, but was practically ousted for my beliefs. Financial abortion rights for men hinges on the idea that only women decide to have babies by not aborting, and should therefor take all responsibility. It fails to see that in some cases a women will want full responsibility and will not allow a father visitation as sh…

Fighting for "Choice for men" based on abortion laws is a flawed argument. If you understand the legality of Roe v Wade and how it became law it will become apparent. Basically there is a legal difference between a "fetus" and a "child/person". Only people(including children) have rights, fetuses do not have rights. Parenting rights/responsibilities only apply to children not to fetuses. Currently the ability to terminate parenting rights and the responsibility to parent are the same for both mo…
