It's incredibly nice of you guys to show this kind of empathy rather than just linking him to another sub reddit. OP, seek out a therapist, specifically a Licensed Clinical Social Worker if you can. I find they are usually trained to get right to the meat of your issues, rather than draw out six months of sessions about your creepy uncle who touched you when you were five. You need an outlet like this if you want to be that rock for your family. Start journaling, I used to walk around with a sma…

I love this sub. It could definitely use more contributors. I PM'd Fred months ago asking if he had plans to add any updates, but haven't heard back.

That may be, but if a scenario like you describe were to take place, the relationship was already in the danger zone well before she set foot inside that club. I personally think "blackouts" happen only a tiny fraction of the time they're claimed and are more often just a pathetic excuse to shirk responsibility.

I question her morality for allowing your hand on her ass. Why are we talking about women as if they aren't capable of making their own choices? If I saw my girl sucking up that much to you, it'd raise some serious questions about the strength of my relationship. That would be on her though, because I deserve better.

Don't overwhelm yourself with a "guide" to flip through while you're out. I used to write little notes to myself on my phone to keep me on track. Things to flip through on the way to the bathroom, etc. I looked through some of my notes from a couple years ago (I'm in a LTR now) and found this (not mine) : 5 rules, motherfucker- I will not even consider emotionally connecting with any woman who has not demonstrated consistently good behavior. For the idea of a romantic relationship to even be ent…

Brilliant. There isn't enough LTR seduction discussion in this sub.

The fantasy you should have to get your ideal girl should be choking and butt-fucking her, not having a romantic walk with her on a beautiful beach underneath a full moon. Heh.. WOW! that certainly puts things into perspective.

This is the attitude to have. This is a win for you simply because you walked out onto the ballfield. Pickup in the early stages is alot like gaining flight hours. Keep going out, keep logging those hours. Journal and don't let discouragement permeate your core.

Please start a subreddit. It'd be great to havea place for us LTR's to share and commiserate without having to hang out in /relationships. There's so much valuable advice in here I'll need to re-read this few times. I have turned into the "cute", over-complimenting boyfriend. I sometimes wonder if she's bored of me, so i start the beta compliment cycle all over again, which makesme anxious. It's a sand pit I constantly am stressed about not being able to climb out of. Got any advice for that? I …

Yes! Thank you so much for posting this, you have no idea how timely this advice is for me. I found myself going from a strong start and gradually slipping into this approval-seeking, mopey trap. The "What" + "Why" + "How (to fix it)", something Seddit needs more of.

I'd love to hear more from you. When I was working the field, part of what I saw as the draw to me was my lack of care whether she was there or not. Women stuck to me like magnets. I settled down a few months ago with an awesome woman that I'd like to build a future with. I don't have any game anymore. Sometimes I worry that I might lose her as a result: small fish in a big pond.

Why do I get this really creepy feeling about this thread? Oh right knowing theres guys out there like this. If you suck at pickup, what makes your think you'll be a more attractive option in Cuba? Affluence possibly? You make me sick.

Where were you six months ago? I'd like to see more discussion on this from you seasoned vets. It's such any easy trap to fall into. "I CAN say NO to you, and I WILL if you give me a reason to." Internalize that statement, and never falter from it. I'm going to tattoo this to my mind.

Same story for me. Honestly what pulled me out of it was taking a job as a nursing assistant in a hospital. You are literally forced to have a stage presence no matter what kind of day you're having. On days when I'm feeling particularly anxious or depressed I mentally go back to that mindset and it helps. "Fake it til you make it." Take the other posters advice about saying hi to everyone you pass. Start by wanting nothing more than to greet people and not expecting a greeting back. When you tr…

I don't know you, but I'm proud of you. Hard isn't it? For me it feels like I am fighting against my own intuition. Handling it the way you did will grant you: A) the girl B) your dignity C) both A & B

Would you mind starting a thread about some of the encounters you've had during the day? I definitely see the value in this and need to work on my own.

I don't see a problem with cocky, unless it's rooted in meanness. Your response sounds appropriate for marriage but not casual dating. Unless a family member died, theres a fire or your ill. Flaking on someone, especially last minute, is a really shitty thing to do to a person. Do you think a guy should sit home and mope?

I love hearing stuff like this. Don't tell yourself that you're "crap with girls" anymore.

Yup, same for me. Ever go quarry diving when you were a kid? You'll remember the longer you stand on the edge looking down, the likelihood of you chickening out increases.

How many times have you stumbled into "one-itis" or at least the strong feeling of wanting to settle with one woman in particular? What are some things you tell yourself to motivate and pull out of it?

To answer your question, just tell her you don't see the two of you long term. Keep it short, respectful and plan on doing more listening than speaking.

I am in a similar situation regularly. I'd like some advice on this as well. As of now, I tell women that I do business in the city and stayed for a few drinks. (truth)

I did this daily for a year after my divorce and you're right. There's something to be said with getting those thoughts all down on paper. It can freeze your anxieties and help you to objectively take into account your irrational fears and deal with them effectively. The times when you are at your lowest or most fearful are not the times for self-counseling. I used to carry around those mini moleskin notebooks so I could whip it out whenever I needed.

Listen to this guy. Six months of therapy did wonders for me. Marriage is a co-dependancy, when it's over part of the loss is that identity you shared with her. EDIT: Shop around until you find one you're comfortable with. Success will depend on you telling him/her everything, things you wouldn't tell anyone else "When's the last time you rubbed one out?".

My best friend is the shortest skinniest guy I know. I seriously haven't had a friend his size since I was in jr. high. Yet, he gets tons of play from very beautiful women. Have some presence.

I totally agree with this. Thought I will say I've helped a couple of AFC's in my neck of the woods go from being totally afraid of girls to feeling semi-comfortable with the initial approach. Getting those first 10 numbers is pure victory for them. They talk about it for weeks after and have given me this sort of Christ treatment. It's like a veil is removed for those guys. This is generally what I tell them after they have the numbers. The game doesn't stop, ever- unless you drop out. When I d…

Thanks for the reply. I haven't told them about each other, but I'm not exactly hiding it either. Most importantly: How do you deflect those questions? Is it wrong to get too intimate without exclusivity? I worry about them running into each other when I'm out with one. Like I said, I'm new to this.

Ultimately she's going to respect your independence. Don't be so available. Schedule things for yourself: trips, concerts, a walk, museums, libraries, a coffee shop out of town, whatever.. You'll legitimately have a reasons to decline and at times offer her a reason to cancel her shit plans to be with you. ;) A wise PUA once said: "Give her the gift of missing you."

I appreciate the advice, but I know what I'm doing and what I'm after. I've been there already. Still your points should be heard, they're just not for me and my situation. 3 years ago, I was divorced after a 15 year hellish marriage. The only thing worse than the marriage itself was the 13 month divorce process in which our children were pitted squarely in the middle (she tried to leave the state, I fought to keep them). During those 15 years, I went from being an outgoing, warm, lighthearted a…

I like this. OP, I've never used a pick up line, I am ADD and usually forget them. I have never seen a guy use one and not come off like a complete tard. Unless that's an angle you want to pursue. It's easier for me to keep my confidence if I think of talking to a woman as a form of networking. Also, I know what you meant by "serious approach", but strike that from your vocabulary. That's way to much pressure your heaping on yourself and a good way to lose your nerve. There's no such thing as a …

I never consider a kiss a "close", that's just me. I like to do it on the earlier side of the evening because for me it's like standing on the edge of a cliff. I get more nervous as time wears on. My confidence melts with every opportunity I shrug off. Just make sure you keep everything light and fun, involve random friendly touches. If she's still trailing you around the pub, go for broke. For me, often times I'll kiss a woman as a form of mute button. Odds are she'll get chatty and a little ha…

I wondered that if she brought it up tomorrow night, if it'd be appropriate to respond: "I'm not interested in a platonic relationship with you." And let the chips fall where they may. Is this sabotage?
