That said, there are some situations where it is clearly not advisable that both parents be given joint custody (e.g., the mother is an oil rig worker and is away for 6-8 weeks at a time, or Dad is a trucker, etc). Some schools are creating volunteer squads of girls, but not boys, to police sexist attitudes and report back to teachers. Also, why would you want to get more people to be teachers and nurses? Those professions are overloaded, especially teachers. You don't want more teachers (there's a shortage of nurses, at least in the US, so you do want more of them), but you want a more balanced gender ratio.
