This goes both ways. There is lots of terrible advice even when all the relevant information is shared. There is also lots of great advice people immediately discard because they're just so defeated they can't recognize a great plan. There isn't a perfect solution, but in my opinion people should bias themselves towards action, even if they're not sure it will work. Totally fine to be skeptical, but your alternative is to do nothing, or just repeat actions that have you where you are today, cons…

Two fundamental changes to the way you approach this. I engaged in sex with lots of casual partners not because I was getting something I wanted, but was chasing something I was never getting. When I met my partner, I found it and knew immediately I would never need to look anywhere else. Second, women get some genuinely bad messaging from other women in my opinion. They're told they don't need someone to be complete and that they should be satisfied by themselves. I tried hard to embrace that, …

They're not thinking that far ahead, they probably think they're going to deport everyone and then they'll line right back up to come in legally.

While this is true broadly the way the average man can overpower the average woman means there is more physical danger to women than there is to men.

Being able to understand and control your emotions is half of it, being able to understand and interact with empathy when other people are likely experiencing strong emotions is the other half. And I completely agree that people are increasingly over sharing their emotions and just expecting everyone else to deal with their rollercoaster, not realizing that if everyone behaved that way it makes it very difficult to sustain relationships.

I agree on the effects laid out here, but the idea that anyone is looking at either party, but especially Republicans and see decades of some sort of master plan is crazy. I think most of these policy preferences for Republicans have religious motives.

What? Who said any of that?

Unfortunately for you, the article you shared supporting your conclusion doesn't even remotely support it. Your personal anecdotes aren't data any more than 1,000 women like me showing up in this thread telling you they've experienced the opposite of the thing you're claiming isn't data.

This is 100% not true. I'm a woman that went through a period of time where I was not attractive to men both physically and attitude wise. I didn't have men approaching me, at all. Dating profiles got basically no hits. I'm not arguing it isn't easier for women in absolute terms, just that there is lots of adaptation happening on both sides.

Women aren't a monolith. Some women want men to be more dominant and aggressive in their pursuit, some women want a safe, low pressure environment where they feel they have more agency. Men have a similar spectrum of preferences. Personally I prefer a more take charge kind of man and wouldn't be attracted to a guy that didn't make his romantic interests clear. Part of the value of talking to women is that you figure out what you're looking for and how to communicate with different types of women…

This is nonsense. It's perfectly reasonable for a woman to weigh the benefits of having sex (like having an orgasm) against the downsides (no longer being a virgin). Men not willing to put in the effort to ensure their partner finishes are sadly common. Your point about true love is a red herring. The thread is about men wanting sex at the beginning of a relationship and not wanting to wait. If true love is worth it, even without orgasm, that should be true for the man as well.

I agree that the details of the conversation matter as much, or even more than the initial approach itself. I assumed OP intended that the conversation went mutually well and led to a request for a date. Any version where there is just a basic introduction and minimal conversation before the date ask would be off putting.

Giving this the best reading, I think most average single women would be flattered if approached like this. Agreeing to go on a date for me would take a bit more. I'd want to be clear we have at least some conversational chemistry or shared interests before agreeing to a full date, but walking to a nearby coffee shop to get coffee? Pretty likely. For context I've always struggled with low self esteem, so having someone approach me in a flattering and respectful way would have been thrilling when…

Sure in the same sense that a man could work hard enough to have 7 figures in their account. The fact it is technically possible doesn't mean it's realistic.

This seems to miss the point of the post. It's easy to find the problems with male/female oriented fantasy. Often it's about pushing the limits, doing something risky or forbidden, achieving what was thought to be unachievable, etc. Picking at those elements is always going to be easy fodder. The point of the post is that men can look at what they can reasonably reproduce to identify some actionable items. Neither men or women can realistically attain every element of their partners fantasies. I…

Honestly what a bizarre take from OP. No one, men or women choose abusive relationships intentionally. Once the abuse starts they often don't suffer further emotional abuse in the form of threats and gaslighting to dissuade them from leaving. Everyone who suffers from abuse deserves empathy. Some people engage in self destructive behavior and continue seeking out abuse patterned relationships, but those people still deserve empathy and a gentle nudge to seek therapy. Making this about only women…

I'm totally flabbergasted reading through this thread. Women being 30 and "used up"? I felt like I hit the peak of my sexual desires around 30. I bet more than half of the top OnlyFans creators guys are jerking off to are over 30.

Looks matter more on Tinder because it's basically all you have to go on as a man or a woman. Especially paired with Tinder's reputation for being for casual sex and not real relationships. Who am I going to respond to, the guy that is attractive and put a bit of effort into his first message or the guy that looks like he used a Leapfrog tablet to photograph himself in a dirty bathroom mirror and started with "Sup cutie?".
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 06:40 PM

This is a whole extra angle that also gets ignored, anyone that gives the slightest hint of being low effort gets the same treatment because even if I am looking for casual sex, the last thing I want is a guy that's going to be done in 2 minutes and is ready to move on.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 06:34 PM

I think the way you're thinking of that is different than the way I think about it. I won't speak for all men or all women. My chances of winning the lottery are higher if I play, but it's extremely demoralizing to try and talk to dozens of guys knowing that most of them just want a hole to put their dicks in, while hoping that one of them is actually interested in a relationship and we'll actually be compatible.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 04:31 PM

I have no idea how you think this is responsive to what I shared.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 12:46 PM

I still feel like you're talking past me and telling me I'm not appreciating how good I have it. I don't want the experience I have. I realize you feel that men would like that experience, I can't speak to that, I can only say that getting tons of low effort messages from men that pretend they're looking for a relationship and actually only want sex ends up making me feel as worthless as I think I would feel if I got no messages.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/05/24 12:45 PM

I think I would prefer getting zero messages than dozens of low effort attempts at a hookup, especially when they're not going to say that directly, so I end up having to waste time and come out feeling worthless in any scenario where I'm not interested in casual sex. I really don't intend this to be a comparison, like you said it's a terrible experience regardless of gender. I've just been surprised at how many men here seem to think women are deluged in great options and have their pick of the…

I'm not sure why this sub started showing up for me, but I've been pretty surprised at the experience some men here think most women on dating apps seem to have. I've been in a relationship for a few years now, but dating apps were always terrible for me unless I was looking for casual sex. Getting spammed with guys who only care about my body was not a good experience. If my current relationship ends, I'd be reluctant to rejoin dating apps for anything other than a hookup.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/05/24 03:50 PM

Much of this is tied up in social conditioning. Men are socialized to tolerate the risk of rejection. Women are not. I've made the first move with a guy 3 times in my life and in each case I waited until I was basically certain I would be successful because the prospect of being rejected when I already struggled with my self worth felt devastating.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
