"oh I just got dumped and my mom is in the hospital" You would't start the conversation with this, but you are certain to mention it at some point, if the other person is interested in how you are doing, which is usually what most conversations begin with, if I'm not mistaken. Yes, serious shit is not fake. But most conversations are not this serious. You're going to mention serious stuff once to people, and then just keep them updated if they're interested. Otherwise, you'll just end up chit-ch…

My mind doesn't work that way unfortunately (or you didn't really mean to say "thoughts that are crossing your mind" there). I just blurt out whatever happens to be in my head at the time, especially if I'm dealing with difficult people, like those who ignore me for no apparent reason when I'm trying to help and they're the ones who asked for my help in the first place. Yeah, but doing all this while also trying not to look fake sounds a bit too much work. Comedians are a poor example, as they are trained to look and sound good on stage. To me, the type of conversations you guys described have a "fake" label on them from the start. Why can't we all just be like children and talk about whatever crosses our minds, like how pretty those trees in the distance are, or what the clouds look like? :)
