I'm in my late 50's, professional STEM, reasonably successful but I live a pretty minimalist life. No debt. Can get work in my field when I want. Can do casual work on my own as well that pays the bills fine. And the age 50's women I meet just blow me away with their expectations. Maybe 1 in 10 are actually worthwhile to have in your life. Yeah, that's deep quant work. An economics Nobel prize was won in the last decade or two over it. Setup much of modern derivatives and financialization. At 130 you're probably reasonably bright enough if you are willing to do the hard work. It's more doctorate level if you really want to get into it but a good Masters' supervisor who can direct you and keep you focused could make it work, too. Good luck with everything.
