I second this advice. I met and went on at least 70 first dates and was rapidly losing hope. Then I met my husband through a dating site. You can’t force yourself to be compatible with someone and sometimes people are single for a reason when you meet them. As long as you stick to your own values and boundaries eventually you’ll find someone that makes you happy.

This might not be the case but for us the issue was mostly physical. We did everything you’re supposed to, waiting, using lube, etc. but there was just a discomfort I couldn’t get past. Turns out it was an issue with scar tissue from labor and another 6 weeks of recovery was needed. It sucked to hear but we were relieved to find an answer. It took maybe 6 months for things to feel, “normal” again and sometimes there’s still occasional pain. Just try to be completely honest about how you’re feeli…

Sorry I’m on the browser and don’t always check my notifications! Lol Basically any boxed pasta with olive oil, garlic, Italian herbs=fantastic. Add some sautéed cherry tomatoes, shrimp, spinach, or whatever you personally like and it’s even better. A simple grandma/Sicilian pizza is really easy to make and if you only have a toaster oven it works in those too! I make a simple dough from any recipe I find online (or when I’m really lazy the just add water packets you get at the pizza section of …

If you like Italian-American cooking I can give you a lot of my personal recipes, they’re all generally very cheap and very easy to make.

My husbands favorite homemade food that I make is just sheet pan pizza and steak. I like that I can prepare them when he’s at work at do the actual cooking when he gets home so it doesn’t take time away from each other and I just have to do dishes afterwards. I make a lot of homemade breads on my off days too and he’ll help me with things like preparing focaccia dough or forming English muffins. On days I’m all caught up on chores I usually pull out the crock pot and make things like roast beef …

This might not be helpful but YouTube and google searches are great for cleaning advice. When I first moved out there were things I didn’t do very effectively and just had to learn as I went with reading and watching videos. I definitely don’t recommend just using cleaning supplies randomly because that can be legitimately dangerous, always read the packing and directions clearly.

I love this! Typically being in the kitchen more fire safety is more of my responsibility. We hosted a dinner party once and after having served the main courses; bread caught fire in the oven and the only thing I said to my husband was “FIRE STAY AWAY” and without hesitation he did damage control on guests, pets, and children while I put out the fire and what could have been a huge issue became a burst of laughter from everyone. He trusted in me that I knew how to take care of a cooking emergen…

As a married woman with tattoos, I don’t think a lot of men care and some men even like them. The key is having them in tasteful areas and getting tasteful tattoos. I have designs that I just think look nice along with an uncommon quote from my favorite philosopher/mathematician in an uncommon font. I considered how they would age when I got them and I take extra time taking care of my skin so that they stay looking nice. I don’t think women should be discouraged from getting tattoos, everyone s…

A lot of religious practices were based in medical knowledge at the time. Circumcision, virginity, not eating certain foods, etc

I recommend writing him a letter. Outline why you love him, outline the legal, parental, and financial benefits of marriage (if you want to DM me I can help with that part since a lot has come up since we’ve had children), and maybe outline any concerns/insecurities you have about not getting married (breaking up and becoming a single, homeless mother, medical emergencies, death, etc), and also outline what it means to get married in your state as far as initial cost, marriage license, and where…

Ohhhhh boy So then you need to discuss the importance of marriage in regards to a child’s upbringing. Sometimes when I have really heavy topics I need to discuss with my husband I pretend to make a power point presentation in a notebook lol headers, bullet points, cite notes and everything and then I use that as a mental guide for the conversation. Ps: read all the other comments and they seem like asses who don’t belong in the sub. Your first instinct shouldn’t be to just trash the whole relati…

Have you discussed the legal benefits with him? Power of attorney, wills, life insurance, help guaranteeing custody of your children in the event of an emergency, are all possibilities that need to be considered for the well being of your entire family unit. I can’t imagine losing my husband and not being able to make decisions about his health, remains, etc also maybe let him know that it’s not a wedding you’re excited for, it’s being able to carry his last name and have the recognition of bein…

For me finding a friend who has the same struggles helps a lot. My husband is gone for work for long stretches of time and my son is just about to turn 1, we have two dogs and I work 60ish hours a week most weeks. I have a childless friend who struggles keeping everything together because she works full time and goes to school full time. For whatever reason going over to her house I feel more motivated to clean and vice versa so on weekends when we have a day off one of us will pick up coffees, …

I’m not saying for the first meeting, I’m saying in general, in life. I think you should genuinely look at your own behaviors and improve yourself as much as you can before looking for an SO. If your relationship is based on you pretending to be someone your not you’ll set yourself up for failure anyway.

Everything in life is about balance and when you balance yourself you become desirable. Examples: Be confident but humble. Sexy but modest. Funny/serious but casual. Knowledgeable but open to learning more. Kind but set boundaries. Write down all of the traits you yourself would like to see in an SO, then detail each of those traits with what you believe they would desire, expect, or deserve based on those traits. (i.e. my husband works long hours, when I work short days I cook/clean, my husband…
