Indeed they can and unfortunately mutilation of the genitals belonging to both genders goes on in our world which is abhorrent to any right minded observer However I cannot recall a mainstream example of female castration/mutilation being depicted for entertainment purposes (I may be wrong but I haven’t seen it) whereas the castration/mutilation of males is regularly depicted. Nor is the none consensual mutilation of female infants a cultural norm in western society (and quite rightly so) I agre…

Is the fear of castration/gelding not also a gender exclusive fear? It seems as though the gender exclusive fear (as you rightly point out) of death in child birth is universally distasteful, unpleasant and deeply undesirable to people of all genders whereas the other gender exclusive fear of mutilation/removal of external genitals is accepted, justified and for some (not all) entertaining and celebrated by people who are predominantly of the opposite gender (and inexplicably to some of the same…

Fair enough I misunderstood. The trend of gendering the terms and them becoming widely used and accepted suggests that you and I are in the minority unfortunately. This links into your question about common social issues and attitudes that mainly affect men in that there is a disparity in the acceptance of discriminatory terms, narratives and attitudes against men and the implied application of negative behaviours and attitudes solely to men.

The casual and unchallenged discriminatory and belittling “jokes” and anti male tropes thrown around by some (and it’s a sizeable proportion) women in everyday group situations. The sorts of things that equivalent comments about women have long and rightly been accepted (by all apart from an ignorant or provocative minority) to be damaging and unacceptable. More often than not the fellow females in the group will either openly agree and support, laugh and write it off as a joke but very rarely c…

You have yourself given two examples, feeling patronised by an explanation or assumed lack of knowledge and experiencing demeaning comments or playful shouts from (normally) groups of the opposite sex is not by any means an exclusively female experience. Terms for these things already exist but for some reason there’s a tendency to prefix them with “man” as a way of demonising and assigning sole responsibility to men.

Saw the trailer recently at the cinema, my gf enjoyed it and suggested we see it next time. My response was that “I don’t think that’s made for me” which she accepted. It is Undoubtedly another piece of mainstream media designed to reinforce the dominant and false narrative of male predilection for and collusion in the oppression and victimisation of women. What’s most concerning is that this is the accepted, encouraged and unchallenged view held by many of my female peers. My gf understood my r…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
