That is... Unfortunate to say the least. The worst part is it also turns people against God and Christianity. They see the church, supposedly folloing God's will and claiming to be going to heaven, acting just the same as the people they claim to be sinners. I was so amazed by how God had changed the lives of people I met at church when I was first introduced to the community. It was obvious how different these people are from everybody else. You think, what do all these people have in common th…

I was born again mid October and have been going to church regularly since then. I cannot imagine not having my brothers and sisters around me, especially not at this point in my spiritual life. I come from a Eastern European country where the main religion is Orthodox Christianity, but most people are only Christians by name (have never read the Bible, don't go to church even on holidays, make no effort to know God personally). I'm Protestant and my church is heavily focused on making new disci…

Your metabolism is not a set thing, it adapts. And activity is huge for weightloss and not just for weight, but for improving your SV as a whole. How do I know? I lost 25kg without working out and still hated my body because I still looked fat. I then started working out and lost another 5kg while eating for maintenance. Within a year my body looked so much better, and men definitely noticed me more. My posture improved, my skin improved, my sleep improved, my mood improved. People didn't notice…

Just wanted to add, I was reading 1 John today and these two verses from chapter 5 made an impression on me: 16 If you see any brother or sister commit a sin that does not lead to death, you should pray and God will give them life. I refer to those whose sin does not lead to death. There is a sin that leads to death. I am not saying that you should pray about that. 17 All wrongdoing is sin, and there is sin that does not lead to death. I admit I'm not 100% sure what they mean just yet (newly bor…

They will? I'm sorry if it's not my place to comment since I'm a woman. But... I honestly don't think any of the girls in my church would hit on a guy. Not in church and definitely not outside of church. I know I wouldn't. The man should be the leader in the relationship. If I'm the one initiating (or attempting to initiate) the relationship, that feels like I'm the one leading. I don't want to set that sort of precedent. Would I maybe try to be around him more? Sure, absolutely. But that's not …

Most men expect women to be boring and to let them talk about themselves. Wait, what? In my experience, that's not true at all and it's actually the opposite. I tend to talk a bit much when I'm excited about a topic and I've found that men don't mind listening. That is, if you actually have something to say. I don't want to dominate the conversation, so I've been working on my listening skills (asking questions, not interrupting and such), and on being a bit more concise and to the point when sp…

Ooh, hey there fellow Bulgarian :) I hope you're having a good day! Well, I've always been interested in religion and philosophy. When I was a teenager, I started asking myself the big questions - what's the meaning of life and such. I made a lot of assumptions about God and rejected the idea based on that. I thought it was just plain logic, but the reality of the situation was that I just didn't know or understand much about God. In university I started listening to more conservative podcasts t…

I'm from Bulgaria. I know a lot of feminine women, but the place where I get the most support by far is church. It's tough because people here are not particularly religious. I was an atheist myself not long ago. But the church is like an oasis where I can recharge my batteries and find guidance before I go out into the world again :)

Speaking with a low voice is something you learned. It's going to be tough to get rid of that habit. Why not practice at home? Speak in a gentle manner. Talk to yourself out loud when you're home, or read aloud. Once learned, a habit can definitely be unlearned. It just takes time. Be patient! Try to be conscious of the things you want or don't want to say, and think before speaking. Again, practice makes perfect. It's not going to happen overnight though, so don't be too harsh on yourself.

Okay. This was a lot. I avoid giving relationship advice normally because I am single. But... Girl, you speak so poorly of yourself. A couple of years ago I was in a very bad place. I was sad, lonely, depressed. I had been rejected from my first boyfriend and didn't take the time to recover from that breakup. I tried to look for another relationship immediately. I went on dating sites, not even genuinely looking for relationships but looking for attention, for someone to tell me I'm pretty. The …

Personally, I wouldn't trust a stranger on the internet and I wouldn't pay for something like that as well. Find a woman has the life you want and ask her how she got there. My advice, therefore, would be to look around and see if you can find women like that in your own life. I'm also young and would love to have someone to coach me and teach me how to be more feminine. Lucky for me, I found an amazing church which provides a lot of guidance. When I was an atheist, I looked up to some of my tea…

There is definitely a difference in the woman's position in a traditional marriage and in a non-traditional marriage. There is often talk about leadership on this subreddit, women are looking for a partner who is going to be a good leader (or a good Captain, as is the expression). What that means is that you have someone who is going to make the majority (if not all) of the executive decisions. Are we going to buy a house? Are we going to buy this house or the other? Are we going to go on holida…

Well, this isn't exactly no money... But when I had my birthday last year my friends who are in the US made a special video call. They had baked me a cake and sang me happy birthday. It was the sweetest thing ever. Perhaps you could do something like that? Baking something, maybe not a whole cake, but just cupcakes? Or a simple traybake, if you're not a grear baker? And lighting a candle and singing him happy birthday? You can eat whatever you baked after and it's going to be pretty cheap anyway…

Well, I don't have much sexual experience myself, but regardless, I would prefer if the guy hasn't been promiscuous. It increases the chances of him being someone with high standards and looking for commitment. Physical touch and sex are very important ways to express love for me and I'm looking for a partner who would at least not want to have sex outside of a commited relationship. Otherwise it just means that he does not value them as much as I do (or in the same way). Also, a small number of…

Oooh. Very interesting topic. I have been lucky enough to have two loving and caring parents. We have had our disagreements, but we have discussed a lot of issues and now have a better relationship than ever. That being said, there are a couple of things that my mom did that have caused me issues and that I'm working hard to improve on. When I was little, my parents didn't spend a lot of time with me. I was not neglected, I know my parents cared a lot and have given a lot for my sister and me. B…

That sounds like a very good list. When one of the women becomes the wife, where is she on the list? And where are the children? And at what point does she start to migrate away from "4. Women"?

we've agreed that the tension between wifely submission and achieving the best possible decisions rests on me leading effectively, which means listening intently to my wife and showing her love and respect I'm going to tattoo this on my forehead. Hey. So, I talked to my best friend about this. He and his girlfriend live together and are both studying for paramedics and working part time. It's been immensely stressful for both of them. This is basically what he said: You have to prioritize. His priorities are school, gym (keeps his mental health in check), his gf, keeping the house clean (in that order). "Me time" is out the window as it's the lowest priority, and that's even below spending time with friends/family. As for your situtation…

My best friend is male and we are very close. This is a person who really cares for me and who has helped go through immensely difficult times. He saw me at mt worst and stayed by my side. I'm not abandoning him. That being said, our relationship is closer to that of a brother and sister. He has a partner and I have become good friends with her too. But... You should absolutely care for your partner and encourage their growth and development. What then is the role of the wife in your opinion?
/r/RedPillWomen13/10/20 02:45 AM

I don't understand your war of thinking. A father is someone who protects his daughter and when she marries, it is her husband's role to protect her. It's different because it's a grown woman now and not a little girl, so it's a different sort of protection. But it's still there in a sense. I think the same logic should follow with a man and his partner. As a kid, he was nurtured by his mother. When he marries, part of that role is taken up by his wife. It's different, of course, because he is a…

Not my boyfriend, but my best friend is 30M. He gets distant sometimes when he is dealing with something tough. It used to make me afraid that I did something wrong and he's upset with me, or I'm not doing the right thing to help him, but eventually I realized that's not the case at all. What I have found helpful is to just text "Hey, you're on my mind. That's fair, I suppose. I should note I'm not American, I'm Bulgarian. I've received interest from guys, but I'm fairly certain that cold approaches aren't normal here. I've never seen anyone be approached that way. Perhaps it's normal at clubs, but I don't frequent those, so... I appreciate your advice, though I'm probably too shy to do something like this. I know it feels like our issues are extremely big and complicated sometimes, but us women tend to overthink and overcomplicate our issues. And then when someone tells us it's not as hard as we think, we get upset and angry. It's happened to me many times. He was trying to help and you (I assume) fought his suggestions to fix things with reasons why his advice won't work due to the complexity and uniqueness of your problem, and getting all defensive about it. It gives off the impression that you …

You are not alone in thinking this way, I completely agree with you. What is the purpose of dating someone if you are not ready to settle down and/or know that it won't be with that person? If you're lonely, work on your friendships. If you want sex, masturbate. Otherwise it's just heartbreak waiting to happen. You shouldn't use people like that.
/r/RedPillWomen30/09/20 03:25 AM

I think it also really depends on the person. I, for example, am incredibly empathetic and have a really soft heart. Which means that I can be very naive and it took me quite some time and heartache to understand. I find it incredibly hard now to decide if I should trust someone or not. My heart wants to trust immediately, but then my brain decides to overcompensate with doubt and I don't know which one I should listen to. I need some time before the two can agree, so I know I'm trusting this pe…

A little bit, yes. I don't see why a woman would bother posting something like this here of all places, when one of the core ideas is to be respectful and judge men based on character. And to answer OP's question... No, I have not encountered this. The last guy I dated was "short" (my height, and I'm an average girl) and I didn't see him acting this way. He was very traditionally masculine. Imo posture and build are many times more important than height. And character is more important than eith…

It really depends on the kind of PCOS you have. There are multiple symptoms and not all women have all symptoms. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was in high school. Lost 30kg (over 60lbs) within a year after graduating and going to college. It could very well be the PCOS that's making it really hard for OP to lose weight, but it could also not be. I wouldn't usually recommend a low carb diet but there are studies that show that it's very useful for weightloss in women with PCOS. It's what kicks…

A woman's overall value is not defined by her appearance, and even if it were, there's so much more to "appearance" than tight skin and perky breasts. The way you talk (and what you say), the way you carry yourself, the way you groom yourself. As my best friend (a really good man) puts it, there's a difference between being pretty and being beautiful. The former is only about how you look, and the latter is about who you are as a person. Keep working on your personality. It takes a long time (as…

It is also possible that you are eating too little and exercising too much/not resting enough. (not saying that's the case, just that it's possible) If you eat too little, it will stress your body and you can start to hold onto fat or retain water that's masking an actual weight loss. Our bodies also have mechanisms that maintain the amount of fat we have. Your fat is basically like a separate organ that has its own blood vessels and hormonal regulation. So, weightloss gets harder at a certain p…

To be honest, one of the reasons I want to have children earlier is because I would like to have the mental and physical energy to actually play with them and get to know them. My parents had me when they were 35 and while they are loving parents and I wouldn't trade them in for anything, they were always too tired to play with me (mostly because they worked a lot, but also because they didn't have the same energy and stamina as when they were younger). It's my mom's advice too - have kids earli…

I agree. But if you can't change it, then it's a part of who you are and you and your partner should learn to live with it. No need to apologize over and over again once you've decided that it is what it is.
/r/RedPillWomen20/09/20 05:59 PM
3

I disagree with your second statement. Yes, there is such a thing as apologizing too much. The thing with apologies is that they're absolutely meaningless if they don't come with a change in how you act. "I'm sorry" is a big word and shouldn't be thrown around. If you say it and then continue to do the same thing as before, it becomes meaningless and others lose trust in you. For example. I had a friend who kept interrupting me. All. The. Time. She knows she's doing it, but she never changes. Sh…

Of course, I'm glad to have helped :) I have also noticed a lot of people have an all or nothing mentality when it comes to health/weightloss. They want every day to be perfect and the moment they slip up somewhere, they think "Well, I already had some popcorn, so I'll just scrap this day completely. Gonna go eat half a cake now." That sort of thinking is just messed up. There's no such thing as a perfect day and every choice is for itself. One wrong choice isn't going to mess up your progress..…

Weight loss is a tricky thing. In my experience, a lot of women who have lost weight (or at least attempted to) had issues with disordered eating, or were very close to getting those. I lost over 60lbs (about 30kg) a couple of years ago and have kept it off, so I will try to give you what advice I can. My first advice would be to focus on being healthy and being consistent. Weight loss takes time, even if you have only a little to lose. Implement changes in your life that are sustainable and mak…

That's an interesting question. There are a couple of things that I would like to improve on. I'll divide my answer in three categories. Appearance. I'm pretty and have a good body from working out. I slid back a little during quarantine, so I would like to go back to my pre-quarantine shape and activity level. There's actually a guy like that at my gym. I took an interest in him precisely because of that. I used to go work out first thing in the morning when the gym opens and he was always there. I'm not sure if this will be much help, but since we seem to have similar hobbies and I've also struggled with time management and not having enough time in the day, perhaps I can help a little. As a previous commenter said, perhaps your expectations of what you want to achieve during the day are too high (that was my problem). I was talking about things like... If you recently took up a hobby or are passionate about something and told them about it, so they ask you if you're still doing that. If you're okay. Asking if you went on holiday or did something new/fun lately. There are questions out there about you or your family that can be very general and not at all judgemental, but can set the start of a nice conversation. I used to think that too, but I don't believe it anymore. I'm not sure how you define small talk, but I don't think it's useless at all. When you are just meeting someone, or you only see each other for a little while, you don't have the time or comfort for a full fledged conversation. But it's nice to know how to ask people small things about their life. Shows that you genuinely care. Deep conversations take time and trust, and trust takes time to develop. You can't always choose between deep c…

I'm not sure what your situation is, but I personally meal prep, so I just make all my food at once and just heat it up whenever it's time to eat. I care about him being strong and physically fit. Having someone who prioritizes his health is huge for me. You can be successful and maintain healthy relationships with friends and family. I agree, but I don't see how that negates any of what I said. There's nothing wrong with "fading in the background" though. I see everything as a part of building a new and better world. That's, I believe, the only point of this whole life situation that we're put in. Everyone likes to see themselves as the leading actor in their own little play, but to me that's a bit self-centered and kind of pointless because then we die and we all know the play is over when the main character dies and that's that. The truth is that some women are not ready for motherhood. Some people are too damaged mentally or emotionally to ever be parents. Trying to force women like that into a role they are not prepared for, or do not truly want, can be very damaging to them and everyone around them. I believe there are situations where abortion may be necessary and in those cases it should be available to women who need it. However, it should definitely not be celebrated or portrayed as a simple and obvious choice to make. I think part of the popularity of the pro-choice movement stems from the desire of (some) women to be "sexually liberated". The more you sleep around, the more chances you have of getting an unwanted pregnancy. Having the option of abortion and the emergency pill (which a…

Honestly, if the guy sleeps around, it's also a deal breaker for me (or close to one). It shows me that: He is okay with the risk of getting sick and/or getting a woman he doesn't know well (or at all) pregnant. He thinks of sex as a purely physical thing and does not care about the emotional aspect of it. He has little to no impulse control. He has attachment issues. Neither of these are okay. The quality of the people you are with and the quality of the relationships you build say a lot about …

Read the post again. The only couple in the post were OP and her BF and he wasn't invited in the first place, so there's absolutely no reason OP shouldn't hang out with her friend.

Yes! Life doesn't end when we grow old and our kids grow up. Being able to cultivate a spirit of grace and dignity well into your old age is so inspiring and I wish more people strived for it.

I admit I'm not a huge fan of Mrs Midwest, but I felt the same way about how it seems that being feminine is all about dresses and shoes and makeup. I mean, that's part of it, sure, but it's only the surface. There is so much more to being feminine than how you look. If anything, we should start by cherishing the feminine qualities of our personality and then allow that to influence and shape our appearance.

I don't think that makeup is "maintenance". Skin care, shaping and cleaning your eyebrows, taking care of dried lips and skin... That's maintenance. I dislike makeup because it feels like I'm wearing a mask. It's just not what I look like and it makes me feel like I'm doing false advertising. Beyond my general routine of cleansing and hydrating/purifying masks, I use a light colorless day cream with SPF, the brush on an eyebrow pencil to keep my brow hairs neat, and some lightly colored lip glos…

Well, I'm a huge geek and a molecular biology student, so my walls are covered with books and posters of things I like. It's basically a combination of geeky fan stuff, pretty things like plants and butterflies, and creative touches (musical instruments, things I painted, and such). In my room where I live now after moving out, the walls are a light pink color that I didn't choose, but enjoy quite a lot. My curtains, bed cover and carpet are all in the beige/brown tone and fit nicely with the wo…

I have a question. I apologize if it's inappropriate, but I just wondered. You said that it was very difficult in the beginning because you were too immature to handle the pressure of marriage well. Do you think if you hadn't been married and the relationship was going through tough times, you would have been able to maintain it? Do you think that being married got you to stick through it and figure it out? Or would you just not have had the same issues (or other issues of similar importance) if…

Or it is just as possible, if not more likely, that it will not and then she could feel a lot of regret, which I doubt is something that she wants. If her partner is a good guy, he wouldn't want it ether. Personally, I don't think the risk is worth it.

That's fair, but between 19 and 27 there's still 8 years (age difference between your ex and current guy). Do you honestly think that 27 is the youngest possible age at which a man would be interested in having the kind of relationship you want? You are still growing. I have always been mature for my age, but at 18 I was the furthest thing away from a RPW, I had completely different political and religious beliefs. My personality wasn't the greatest thing ever... I'm 21 now and in the last 2 yea…

Did you consider that perhaps I was trying to educate myself by asking you a genuine question about something I did not understand? I was unable to find an asnwer and asked you how you got yours... To which you tell me So you have a better awswer for the problem? Or you just want to disagree with mine because not makes you uncomfortable? To me, there isn't enough information in the post. Clearly, you saw something in it that I did not. I was asking you what that was and your answer is to attack …

I'm not even sure it's that gender-related. Anyone can have unrealistic expectations and anyone can have attachment issues for a variety of reasons. It's not fair (or helpful) to generalize like the original commenter did. And especially when talking about societal expectations, we should take into consideration that different countries (and even different parts of the same country) can have very different cultures and gender-based roles/stereotypes/expectations. This is especially relevant in t…

There's nothing wrong with taking naps. Sometimes I feel a big slump in the afternoon and I have a couple choices: Just keep going - that's not a good idea if I need to use my brain. I just can't think in a slump lile that and I'm wasting my time by trying to study. Have coffee - that can backfire and make me even more sleepy and/or ruin my sleep at night. Exercise - tbh I haven't tried that, but I already work out intensively for an hour 4/5 days a week, so at those times I don't want to work o…

I think society used to hold men to a very high standard, that's what traditional masculinity is to me. The idea of toxic masculinity, I think, comes from the men who fail to achieve that high standard and make up for it by overtly aggressive and/or arrogant behavior. I think women should also be held to a high standard, which traditional femininity represents. Some things are shared, some things are gender specific. Taking responsibility for your actions. Controlling your emotions. Maintaining …

This. It honestly irritated me a little when I read that. I would say communication varies way more person to person than between genders. When I (female) talk, sometimes I want to make a more long and complex point. If you start asking me questions or make comments, I'll get distracted and annoyed. I know other people who would have no trouble continuing after getting interrupted by a short comment, but it throws me off completely. It also depends if I'm telling a story or making a more, ah, ph…

In a sense, all enhancement that requires an external source and goes away immediately after the source is removed is "faking it". I think it just depends on what you feel comfortable with. I personally don't wear makeup other than lipgloss, but on very special occasions, I wouldn't mind putting some eyeliner and lipstick on. I wear clothes that flatter me, but I don't wear pads. I do have highlighters, but I regret it a little bit because my ends are dry. Overall I prefer to 'enhance' myself in…

Hey. I don't know if I will be much help, but I'm in a similar boat. I'm 21, third year molecular biology student. I want to go into scientific research, which means also getting a master's degree and a PhD. I also intend to continue my studies in another country and because of that (as well as the current pandemic), I will most likely have to take a gap year. Even after I get a PhD, I'll need a couple of postdocs before I can get a stable job. So... I won't have a stable career until I'm in my …

Thank you for your comment. I see where you come from and do agree to a point. I believe perhaps I didn't explain my thoughts very well in my first comment. I'll try again. Did I do something I believe is wrong? Yes. Am I ashamed of it? Yes, very much so. Shame is a very important feeling. It's your conscience telling you that what you are doing is wrong and hurting your integrity. I agree with you that in a way we do have the right to judge others when they make decisions we think are wrong. We…

Thank you, that is very kind of you to say. I'm truly sorry that you had an experience like that. I did as well and it still prevents me from going to that church (or any other, really), even though I met some people there who I really respect and who I have nothing but love for. With time, things will get better, I hope. You seem like a very kind and reasonable young lady. Lots of happiness to you, wherever your life goes :)

Considering your age and what you have written so far, and considering who I was at your age, I would like to say a word of caution (more like a couple paragraphs, now that I think about it): Just because you have found something you agree with right now, doesn't mean you have found the absolute truth. I had completely different beliefs 4 years ago and I was convinced with all my heart I was right. I'm not saying that you will change your mind. I'm saying... Remember that when you find truth, yo…

Wow that post was so mean. OP should listen to her own advice. She said that if we want people to do as we wish, we should say it in a way that encourages them to listen, instead of being angry and mean and, "screeching and stomping our feet". I agree with that. But then she goes on to belittle the very same women she's talking to. Very unkind, very impolite and not feminine at all. Besides, insuring proper communication in a relationship is a responsibility shared by both partners (or friends, …

I like a lot of her content. But I can't help but feel that her smiles and overall presentation are... fake. Something just feels very off when I watch her videos. I thought I was the only one with how many positive comments I was seeing about her and thought I was going insane. But I'm reading other commenters here talking about it, so I can see I'm not the only one and I'm relieved. Being feminine does include being kind and polite and friendly. But it also means being genuine. I've stopped wa…

That's fair. Thank you. But how would I do it in a situation where, say he's introducing me to someone, and he says I'm a microbiologist. Which I'm not. How do I give him a graceful out of that? (I give that example again because it's something that happens very often and I never know what to say. And it honestly hurts a bit that the person I'm talking to wouldn't remember what I do for a living.)

Ah. Yeah, that makes sense. Good for you on recognizing that there's an issue and working on improving yourself. Just an idea - I used to be arrogant and now I'm terrified that if I say anything positive about myself it will come off as arrogant, so I tend to dismiss my successes, which also isn't great. Ah, I can't express my thought very well, but... Maybe you're used to thinking of yourself as a know-it-all so now you think the smallest thing you say will make you sound like that even if othe…

Why is it bad to correct someone? I understand that doing it in a very patronizing way is wrong, but isn't one of the good aspects of a relationship that you both grow and learn? Correcting every single thing wouldn't be okay and doing it in front of other people isn't cool, but when it's just the two of you and you say it in a respectful way, why should it be wrong? For example, I'm a molecular biologist. But people often mistake that for microbiologist. It's a huge pet peeve for anyone in the …
