Your point was intended to trigger. And you ended up getting triggered. Simple as that.

Aren't you the one who was supposed to trigger us all with an edgy comment? How shitty a troll must you be if you ended up getting triggered? LMAO.

That's because you did not grow up in that culture. In certain cultures family and filial piety rank very high.

This is from India if you haven’t noticed yet. Here children live with their parents even when they are adults. When the children are married, usually it becomes the responsibility of the married sons to tend to their parents, although nowadays parents live with married daughters too.

I don't think I have denied that my country's problems exist. I am only trying to explain to racists here who have made outrageous claims that "India has a rape culture" or "India is the rape capital of the world", that it isn't so, but it's just their ignorance and hate that makes them think we are a shithole while they are living in some sort of paradise. Perhaps you should stop trying to tell us who's shit smells worse, because that's what this entire thread is all about.

I know you are not from the UK and I know my country has it's own set of problems. But I just don't get it when idiots from a place with it's own problems think they can pontificate us on what to do and how to handle stuff. I mean, yeah my shit stinks. But so does yours. Anyway you didn't ruffle any feathers.

That reminded me of a news article that I read sometime back: https://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/uk-india-a-focus-country-for-forced-marriages/story-wf3NRIHSuWpSvMdmiogB7O.html From here: The Forced Marriages Unit comprising officials from the Foreign Office and the Home Office said the number of cases linked to India in 2019 was 65 cases (5 per cent of the total cases handled during the year). I found it interesting that the documentary shows an Indian woman's case, while Indians account…

Now we are talking about development are we? Earlier it was about culture. If development is the issue, then it becomes a problem of "poverty and violent crimes" - and I agree, poverty is correlated with violent crimes. But of course, when it comes to South Africa, you'd switch to development because in many ways South African culture is close to the West, but when it comes to India, you'd say it's a cultural problem - while in fact you do not even know what India's culture is.

How many members of the US public would think it appropriate to gangbash and burn to death one of Epstein's victims? And how did you come to the conclusion that Indians think that it is appropriate to gangbash or burn to death a rape victim? Have you lived in India or spoken to Indians on the street? What do you think is Indian culture anyway? Do you at least know that culture in India is so varied from region to region, that in one place society is matriarchal and in another it is patriarchal? …

Or where a woman was gang raped on a bus. Anene Booysen. South Africa. 2011. Or where hundreds of girls many school age were assaulted. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ajmer_rape_case Epstein? Ghislaine Maxwell? And how is the Ajmer case different from the Rotherham scandal?

Come back to me when women in America are forming mobs to beat up rapists because police protect them. If being first world means rape is a coming of age ritual for high school boys, then we'd rather be third world. http://america.aljazeera.com/watch/shows/america-tonight/articles/2014/11/14/by-the-numbers-sexualviolenceinhighschool.html If you think USA, a country that shoots and kills a man in broad daylight because he is the wrong skin color, is not third world yet then you should probably vi…

https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/rape-statistics-by-country Maybe you should back up your claim with data then.

https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/rape-statistics-by-country As in many other countries, rape is grossly underreported in the United States due to victim shaming, fear of reprisal, fear of family knowing, cases not being taken seriously by law enforcement, and possible lack of prosecution for the perpetrator. Only 9% of rapists in the US get prosecuted, and only 3% of rapists will spend a day in prison. 97% of rapists in the United States will walk free. Probably you should back…

Yeah. That's an opinion piece. There is no comparative data and somehow the journalist calls it "India's rape problem". If you knew how statistics works, before you call something a rape problem you'd actually compare it with data from all over the world than going by "more news emerging". Something like this: https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/rape-statistics-by-country

being the first “adult” I’ve blocked on Reddit. I know you won't be able to see this, but just in case you still can....I checked your post history. Well, I can see your wife "blocked" you in real life. So, I guess you are just as obnoxious in real life too. I'd consider it a honor in being blocked by someone like you.

Your racism is honesty. My racism is racism. Nice double standards there. Anyway, I take it that you don't have an answer for my earlier questions and therefore you are resorting to talking about my "resentment". My resentment stems out of my interactions with ignorant morons like you.

Because women were not able to turn them down as much as they can now lol Does that mean, when arranged marriages where the norm in India, when a man fancies a woman, all he had to do was to "arrange" a marriage with her? And now he can't do that and so he rapes her? Is that how you picture it to happen? So earlier any man could have any woman he wanted and the woman's parents will send her to his bedchamber? Also what if a man fancied a married woman? Dude. You are stupid beyond belief. show me…

"Interviews of random strangers" What a fuckin moron!! Meanwhile you have a rape epidemic in Sweden and rapes per capita in the USA are 10 times more than that in India. But of course - - - random interviews as evidence. Aren't you the kind of moron who'd think covid is a conspiracy?? Yeah sure. I saw a brazzers video where an American housewife paid for pizza with sex. Nice culture you've got there.

non-arranged marriages is a relatively new concept Ok. rape is a huge problem there. You know this because? And how are those two statements related to each other? Are arranged marriages causing rapes?

Hindi is official. It's not the national language, but Hindi is regarded as the official language as per the constitution. Also English is regarded "on par" to Hindi. The other 22 major languages are considered as scheduled languages.

Member of Legislative Assembly. They are lawmakers on a state level in India. There's an ongoing fiasco with the incumbent coalition government in the Karnataka state in India. This is related to that.

It's not exactly that they want to use their women privilege, but rather trying to buy time for their party and prevent the coalition government from collapsing for one more day. It's more of an underhanded-tactic to help their political bosses and their own posts. This has more nuances to it than what the OP just posted.

As a man wearing glasses, the breaking point for most humans is when your glasses get knocked off the face. I don't know why, but the whitest rage I've ever felt is when someone accidentally knocked off my glasses once.

In general is a good thing but in a society where everybody can get out of a relation on a whim it is no more beneficial for the majority of people. That's what I thought too.

If both partners are doing these things willingly What if they are doing it begrudgingly, not out of fear that if they don't their partner might leave them, but out of their own sense of guilt/inadequacy and their fear that they may not be able to live up to their own image of what a married person should be? I don't think that's interdependency. May be it will become interdependency later on and they wouldn't even realize that such things inconvenienced them once ("make it till you fake it"). T…
