You keep using that word, I don't think it means what you think it means.

It's not like quirky men don't exist in other facets of society. It's the world we live in; anyone using that as an excuse to exclude an entire career from their future is misguided at best.

It's interesting because on some days when I eat a lot of fruit or sugar-heavy vegetables I can get quite a few grams on my daily total. I've hit 50g with no added sugars

This is on the same vein of my comment about no added sugars. I eat fruit but avoid added sugars whenever possible.

It is hard, mostly because people want to put that shit in everything. Companies have over 25 different ways to name sugar without saying it's sugar on an ingredients label. There's also misinformation, such as fruit juice concentrate being "healthy". I've started to make my own fucking everything, such as bread and peanut butter, to counteract the epidemic of added sugars. It also pushes you to eat a more whole-foods diet.

There's a difference between naturally occurring sugars like fructose (in the food on its own, not added at any point) that you'll see in some foods like carrots and fruits, versus those that are added. I think zero ADDED sugars is a very realistic and healthy goal. Zero sugar overall is overkill.

I agree, everyone should do yoga and mobility; it's worth noting that many yoga poses are static stretches (or incorporate static stretching with other more short-term/dynamic stretches). It's the static stretching before a work out that I would avoid, and instead do dynamic stretching.

dynamic stretching "Dynamic stretching is a form of stretching beneficial in sports utilizing momentum from form, and the momentum from static-active stretching strength, in an effort to propel the muscle into an extended range of motion not exceeding one's static-passive stretching ability" So not quite the same, but I can completely understand why it would appear to provide the same benefit. edit: I'll clarify: You can perform dynamic stretching without warming up
/r/TheRedPill19/03/17 06:07 PM

Unfortunately the big lifts don't hit many of the smaller muscles, so you need more than that. The reps with the empty bar are just warm up.

I was under the impression that dynamic stretches were beneficial before a workout and static stretches after, and that static stretching beforehand is bad because of (insert everything everyone is saying).

Well it's one piece of advice that seems to fall on deaf ears for men in our society. There's so much bombardment of information on how to be fit, stay healthy, blah blah blah by doing a million different routines or exercises that people miss the whole purpose of working out (strength training): to build muscle. Because they miss this point, they don't realize what muscles they're working out, and what exercises target what muscle. Lifting is the best way to hit most of the major muscle groups …

Unfortunately I don't think it was an ideological disagreement since we pretty much agree on just about everything. Those things that we don't agree on, we either don't discuss or agree to disagree (the only thing that comes to mind is he's fiscally conservative and I'm fiscally liberal but we haven't even had a discussion about it). I tried apologizing after whatever I did reached critical mass to where he said "fuck off", but without being totally cognizant of what I did I can't give a proper …

Well I'm not the kind to get overly attached, so I'm willing to take the hint (more of a "fuck off and never speak to me again") but I'm genuinely curious what the fuck I did in such a short time to swing the relationship so drastically. I can't improve myself and prevent this in the future if I don't know what I did wrong.

Seems odd he would wait until we're sharing a hotel for a 4 day weekend, spend 2-3 of the nights/days hanging out buddy-buddy, drinking, and partying then decide on the last night just before we're going out to tell me to fuck off. And this is all after I've moved 1,000 miles away for more than 6 months. He could just as easily have never spoken to me again and ended it that way.

This seems to be the most reasonable explanation out of them all. I'm coming to terms that I should just move on but I was shocked with how suddenly things changed. I've never had someone go from loving me to hating me that quickly.

No, I actually don't. I have some vague idea of what I might possibly have said but it wasn't like I (knowingly or intentionally) insulted him, his beliefs, ideas, house, car, girlfriend, mom, etc. We share many of the same ideas on the world so it was almost definitely not an ideological conflict.

We live in separate cities so it's not a day to day sort of impact and I have other friends. However I value my friendships, especially this one and I'm just a little torn up over the sudden and unexpected loss. I appreciate the advice, thank you.

What you're doing is called dread game. She's comfort testing you because she's worried you'll up your SMV to the point where you'll be attracting women more beautiful than her. But if you stop improving yourself and start declining, once your SMV falls below hers she'll start losing interest. I would suggest you continue improving yourself how you want to. Don't do it for her, do it for you. If that means you want to lift weights and get big, do that.

I found out that there are dance classes offered at the gym I go to (It's a community center with a pool, multi-purpose rooms, gymnasiums, cardio machines, free weights, etc.) so I started there. Then, I found out through meetup.com that there is a group in my city that hosts their own dance lessons so I signed up for those as well. There's also a big Friday night dance party every so often that I attend (I've known about it for a while but I wanted to learn before I went out on the dance floor)…

The book Models touches on this. If you're not afraid to show some vulnerability, it'll make her trust you more and be more likely to open up and show her own vulnerability. Definitely a good book if you're still working on your communication skills.

Honestly I'm still working on figuring out day game myself. It's all relatively easy in theory but I'm still working on it in practice haha. The message I've gotten is you do the things that interest you that are social, or require you to go out somewhere to do it, and you'll meet people there. Build a social circle with the guys you meet. Date the girls you meet that you like. Meet other people through your social circle. Rinse and repeat. I had the same question and thoughts. I think the best way to look at it is like this: If you want to win friends, follow the book. If you want to win sexual encounters, follow the red pill. The teachings for influencing people from both sources are compatible in my eyes. You might also check out the 48 laws of Power and throw that into the mix and see where you end up.

If you're worried about her age, ask her or just walk away. There are (Total World Population / 2) women out there, you're bound to find another one. It's not worth the gamble, and to be honest if you can't get the balls to ask a girl how old she is when it's the difference between prison/jail and being a free man then you should not be talking to her. If you're building rapport, getting IOIs, building attraction, whatever you can also sneak something in. Tell a story from college and get her to…

In response to your TL;DR, anywhere with a minimum age limit is more likely to have girls above that minimum. So, bars and clubs. Or just ask their age. If you think they're lying, ask to see their driver's license or ID. If you're not confident enough to go for that, or you're just that unsure of their age, then you probably shouldn't be talking to them.

This. How disconnected from reality and grammar are they to not realize they basically made it illegal for a man to act differently because the other person is different (aka a female)? It's as if they think that you can and should act exactly the same way towards everyone.

Well this is part of figuring out my plan. Currently I'm trying to fill my afternoons/evenings with stuff I enjoy doing, hoping that in the process I'll be exposed to more women and be able to practice/learn but it seems that all the things I enjoy doing are fairly obscure so that doesn't seem practical. In regards to them not inviting me, luckily these events aren't individual invite type things, they're more open attendance. But I still don't want to cause any problems, "shitting where you eat…

I'm still working on building my frame/SMV so I have trouble building attraction when approaching in a random bar or club (not to mention I go to sleep early/wake up early so the bars are basically empty when I would be going). However, dancing is great because I find it easier to be alpha since I'm already outwardly leading. Basically, if I'm not trying to pull women at my hobbies I'm never going to be meeting, let alone pulling, women.

How is soy/legume protein "junk"? From what I understand, for "gainz" you want two specific essential amino acids Leucine (used to trigger muscle construction) and Iso-Leucine (used to maintain muscles already created), which you can get from a variety of plant-based sources like peas, broccoli, beans, rice, kale, spinach, seaweed, soybeans etc. Some of these may report lower "protein" macros but their amino acid profile still has the two Leucines, and sometimes in high numbers.

No one exercise routine is better than another, they all have their own goals, targets, pros and cons. Just that one can't say "oh you're fat, don't do BWF it won't help you" like one can't say "oh you're weak, don't do Lifting it won't help you"
/r/TheRedPill13/06/16 03:12 PM

Anyone serious about weight loss would lose 120lbs in a year regardless. Unless they put on 60lbs of muscle/lean mass while also losing body fat.
/r/TheRedPill13/06/16 03:11 PM
1

Yeah but with both systems you gain muscle mass / strength that you can't see if you have excess bodyfat. For this reason, discounting BWF just because someone is fat isn't productive and just because the progression is slow doesn't mean progress isn't made or noticeable.
/r/TheRedPill13/06/16 02:20 PM
3

I wouldn't use full-on regular pushups as a filter to whether you should do callisthenics or BWF... especially since no BWF routine worth its salt would tell you to start on regular pushups. Squats? Maybe, I would say if you can't do at least 5 full squares in a row consider something else.
/r/TheRedPill13/06/16 02:14 PM
4

That's why there is a progression ladder for the workouts. Your body will start building muscle to move your body as soon as you start moving it. The lower levels make it easier to move it, compensating for the additional body fat, and as you build strength (or lose fat/weight) you can move up the ladder.

I wouldn't knock BWF. if you check out the RR from /r/bodyweightfitness, they recommend exercises that hit pretty much every conceivable muscle group in one routine. So you get good muscle growth overall, instead of just targeting the bigger groups used for lifting (admittedly I don't know the Stronglifts 5x5 routine so I can't speak to specifics).

I wish I could use a crutch like autism but sadly no. I would not say he's unstable either. He's very well adjusted and sociable. More or less all I have to go on is that apparently I was acting negative and being critical. Something in my wording or phrasing. Like I said though, I'm not entirely sure and this pretty much hit me like a bag of bricks out of nowhere. And it was somehow enough to destroy our friendship with no possibility for recovery.
