I grew up with a deadbeat mum and dad. They were both terrible people. I can't wait to see just how much of an amazing dad my husband is going to be to our little boy, due any day now. He's going to knock it out of the park.

I know this is the second toilet based sign I've posted to this sub, but I saw this today in a UK department store and had to take a picture (and drag my husband to see it too). It's important to me that men being able to take their children to the toilet is destigmatised!

British (ex?)comedian. Pulled a few douchey stunts, was a little pretentious as a comedian to some, I never appreciated his comedy much but he's been through the addiction process and seems that now he's calmed down he actually has some good insights into worldly things!

No mud slinging, we don't all have to agree on every single thing 100% of the time in order to be in 'the club'. We're not.... feminists... where wrongthink is punished by exile.

I don't disagree, but I think this is a start. And he has to tread very carefully with his words as I reckon he's aware that when it comes to mens issues you guys have to approach things in a far less shouty screamy fashion than 'feminists'. It's a(nother) double standard but I reckon men have to persuade where womens causes threaten and intimidate into submission. Said as a woman myself!

The only thing that stopped my spiral was anti-depressants. Truly like the fucking cloud being lifted. No more negative thought spirals, no more bi-annual mental breakdowns.

Seems that way :/ sad to see the sub go this way. So much speculation in the comments 'It will be declared it was the patriarchies fault' etc. She got minimum of 17 years, that's pretty hefty.

You make good words. I like.

Yeah. This is an old building, and an nhs one. I'd rather the money be spent on the health care than building a dedicated changing station. Plus I like this idea better, it's almost a little more of a tiny 'get over it, fathers need to use your space'

It's the Welsh word for "women"

Plus, the poster says 'girl, boy, intersex' which are all legitimate genders. If it was 'male, female, non-binary' then I'd instantly think.... no.

Progressive (in the good way.) especially for rural Wales.

I think that not behaving in the 'But women do XYZ' as a form of argument. So not being an anti-feminist as a movement, but being pro-mens rights.

So how does someone deal with posts like comparing breastfeeding in public to 'manspreading'? Shocked to see that post the other day.

What's your point?

A pun? lovely.
/r/MensRights24/06/17 04:43 PM

No woman will tell you that breastfeeding is a sexual act. Thats like the focus of most acceptance campaigns. Have you got brain damage?

I was never in 'feminism', my husband and I have always been skeptical of my generation on the whole (I'm millenial, he's slightly older). I've always had an interest in authors, journalists, and more recently youtubers who present ideas that don't necessarily go with the status quo, it kinda evolved naturally from there. Also, I'd just never ever seen men as the enemy. Even growing up in an abusive household with a set of deadbeat parents, both as bad as each other, my mum tried to turn me agai…

Glad someone else thought this too. Two totally separate issues.

Agreed. The smart shorts the guy was wearing look better than weird 3/4 length board shorts.
/r/MensRights22/06/17 02:57 PM

Husband said his nuts would probably be better off in the dress than in the shorts anyway! I do not envy you having to carry those sweaty nuggets around on hot days. Sheesh.

There's also another one from an hour ago, don't play favourites now!

Cool beans. Any particular reason you're posting this on my link that has more upvotes & comments, which would make most assume that it was submitted first?

Holy fuck. I feel sick reading this.

They were both posted an hour ago. Almost like that implies that neither person saw the other persons post or something crazy like that!

It's seeped into national newspapers though (well, the guardian)
/r/MensRights18/06/17 10:35 AM
15

Yeah no, you need to look at the guardian article about manspreading and the facebook comments on it. Majority of comments were about it being a societal rape apologetic behaviour. So yeah, cringepics, but not for the reason you think.
/r/MensRights18/06/17 10:35 AM

Hey come on guys, I'm trying my best to be well behaved here. Trying to be the bigger woman, if you will. snicker

I wish I had the energy to sit and trawl through a years worth of articles online from one country, and analyse language differences in reporting of older female on male vs older male on female statutory rape.

Yet another example of gynocentric bias :/

I just hope she gets made an example out of. There are no real lasting deterrents for false accusations. Maybe she'll end up with a new identity at the end of all this, for her own protection.
/r/MensRights15/06/17 03:38 PM

IDK there's a good argument here about the whole rape being about power in the majority of cases rather than flat-out sexual attraction. If I had to guess I'd say perhaps this lady is attention-seeking. I think she deserves equal to the maximum amount that would have been served by the guy who was judged guilty. Unfortunately being falsely accused of rape will always last longer and be more damning than being a false accuser.

And his name, but she's granted anonymity?! She makes me ashamed to be a woman. Disgusting.
/r/MensRights24/05/17 10:03 AM

And how is HIS NAME still plastered all over the newspapers even though he wasn't charged. His reputation probably severely dented for the rest of his life. He'll always be that guy that was accused of sexual assault. Fuck women like this. Now I get what my husband has been talking about for the last 4 years.

Men are the only group I can think of where it's socially acceptable to discriminate against like this. It's disgusting. I passed my test 9 years ago, when I was 17. My husband passed his test 2 years ago, when he was 38 (14 year age difference between us). My insurance immediately after passing was a third of the cost of his immediately after passing.. I get there will be some degree of inflation in 9 years- but surely a 38 year old man is arguably more responsible and level headed than a godda…

Absolutely. Also more rural areas you live in are far less likely to have been invaded by the SJW fuckwit-brigade. I lived in a City, now I live in a village of 700 or so people. I'll take uneducated backward country "casual racism" (as in, referring to people as 'black' instead of 'people of colour') over agenda-pushing and gynocentric life any day.

Meh, I disagree. She didn't have papers published, she got her name on published paper. I got my name in published papers as an undergrad by volunteering to do fieldwork, data collection and analysis. Basically giving the PhD students an easy life in exchange for some easy credit.

I need to get me some kind of 'As a woman with a vagina' flair, but I've truly never given a second glance to a man with his legs spread open. Anyone being a douche and not offering up a seat due to luggage etc, yeah. But a man with testicles? There's a reason those nuggets hang outside of the body that I thought was basic biology. I don't envy you guys having to carry them about, especially when it gets into the hotter months. Yeesh! Take up all the testicular space you need (within reason, obv…

I would like to know how she further justified her stance on feminism in this case... hmmmm (speaking as a female who has bought sex toys for her husband in the past. If I can have fake penises he can damn sure have him some fake vagina if he feels like a fancy-wank)

Jesus fuck. That must have been so stressful to go through as a teenage boy
/r/MensRights08/05/17 10:17 PM

Genuine question, (I am a married female who believes in mens rights, hence why I'm in this sub!) did you fear false retribution from your peers? Violence, etc? I feel like if I were a man in your shoes that fear would have driven me to some paranoia :/
/r/MensRights08/05/17 03:05 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
