My first easy tip is to listen to an example of a person you want to sound like, breaking down each syllable, recording yourself repeating it, and keep doing that until you're satisfied with the way you sound. Secondly, the vowel sounds are where most of the differences in accents lie. Let's take that most Boston of phrases, "wicked retarded".
