I'm talking about the hookup culture, which is clearly targeted towards a younger audience, and guess who benefits from it? attractive young men and women. In any movie depicting hookups, I've never seen short unattractive males in parties with women It's largely young, conventionally attractive guys and even in real life in my colleges its majority of the tallest and attractive guys with women, so there must be some basis that in hookup culture's young women are chasing attractive guys.

Men who look like him are married and have girlfriends. Sure, if he has money and a high status but remove that and it's game over for his dating life in today's dating market. Younger people are more likely to seek for conventionally attractive individuals. I understand that older men and women are less concerned with appearances, but they would not find someone who is fat, has a face that resembles that of a hormonal teenager, and unruly facial hair attractive.
