I think this is a very good idea, but will take some consideration on my part. I believe many feminists could do with defining their own personal stance a little better and I think some explanation would be needed in places, but we may all find it easier to get along if there was more knowledge out there. I will think on this as I have never started a serious thread before on Reddit and would like this particular one to be somewhere people really thought about the opinions they were expressing, …

I'm sorry I think VAWA might be a US issue that I'm not aware of? I actually think that women can be their own worst enemies when it comes to the issue of rape and so this is an issue I consider very carefully. It seems to me that laws in the western world concerning rape are very skewed with regards to gender. However, blanket statements about rape are also often true. As you have used this logic to defend your argument against feminism I'm hope you will now see that it's not very helpful. I do…

again this is a blanket statement about feminism, and I'm sure your correct but I think this article and these arguments could do with some more accurate language - not all feminism is about putting women ahead, but rather about drawing level, and I do accept that often men's issues can be bashed down but your language here doesn't especially help your cause.

Well written reply. However, feminism is more than one political movement, and while I should have stated my own preference, I saw no distinction within the small portion of the article that I did read. For instance it did not state 'A separatist feminist should really be called a female supremacist', and so negativity is being associated with all of feminism and not only the more extreme or disagreeable branches. It should not be the case that a person is judged negatively for expressing an agr…

I didn't read this the whole way through as it didn't warrent reading. Starting off with 'A feminist should really be called >"Female Supremacist." We have erred in calling them "feminists". Or, at least, these terms should be used interchangeably' pretty much shows a lack of any objectivity. Certainly over on 2X we are more of an egalitarian community with an emphasis on women's rights, because issues are raised on a daily basis to do with how we are accepted in the world. Equally we would take…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
