I volunteer at my son's elementary school as well. The only male in the school is the counselor/Watch D.O.G.S. coordinator. The volunteers were also asked to set up the book sale in the library and put posters and signs all around the school. Now I see where your dissatisfaction comes from. When I was in the Coast Guard when guys had a baby they had to take leave, vacation days, to spend time at home. Mind you I left in '09 so this is fairly recent. I don't remember what the deal was for women since I served with very few women. I worked and flew on C-130's along a few. Once a woman got pregnant she was removed from flight status and put in an office job, not allowed to handle chemicals or be out on the ramp due to the dangers associated with an active ramp.
