Apps are run by algorithms meant to lower people's self-worth (by showing a high number of conventionally attractive person in a burst followed by likes from weirdos among other algorithmic flaws, such as racial bias) to keep everyone on the app. Apps make relationships transactional and ego-driven, instead of bonding and connective, which is what is required in dating.
