did you know? those with autism generally dont have the best socisl skills, and this can be easily spotted by others. those with ASPD, on the other hand, are incredibly good at blending in. if you've met a sociopath, you'd likely never know it. do you agree?

humans are generally confined to a position in which the familiar is comfortable and justifiable. it causes cognitive dissonance and overall discomfort when they are presented with something that diverges from the status quo. this is known as "system justification theory" and serves a primarily palliative function for the individual. there's also a component of reduced empathy that groups of people have for one another nowadays. we are trained on algorithms made to enrage us as a means to garner…

It’s way higher amongst bi women and their male partners. 61% of bisexual women have experienced forms of rape and physical violence by an intimate partner as compared to 35% of straight women Sexual violence is common. More than 1 in 4 lesbian women, almost half of bisexual women, and over 1 in 4 heterosexual women in the U.S. were raped during their lifetimes. The NISVS data provide insights about the perpetrators and forms of IPV involving bisexual women. For instance, more than 90% of bisexu…

For example, the CDC found that 89.5% of bisexual women reported only male perpetrators of intimate partner physical violence, rape, and/or stalking and that almost a third of lesbian women who have experienced such incidents have had one or more male perpetrators. almost a third of lesbian women who have experienced such incidents have had one or more male perpetrators.

What do you think of the countless studies that cite that bisexual women are most likely to be IPV victims, from around 49-65%, from vast majority male partners?

Your first link says: The National Violence Against Women (NVAW) survey found that 21.5% of men and 35.4% of women reporting a history of cohabitation with a same-sex partner had experienced physical abuse in their lifetimes note it says “reporting a history of cohabitation with a same sex partner,” and does not mention the orientation of the individual or the gender of the perpetrator. Transgender respondents reported lifetime physical abuse rates by a partner of 34.6%, versus 14.0% for gay or …

that's a myth. it's 29% when removing past relationships with men. bisexual women have a 61% lifetime dv rate from 89.5% men. an alarming 29% of men have experienced ipv in their lifetimes, and 35% of heterosexual women. 36% of bi men have experienced ipv from majority women, which is the stat I think people don't bring up enough.

patriarchy and men are two distinct entities, one is a social structure and another is an entire gender. patriarchy harms both women and men, and puts men in dangerous sitauions as a means of proving their masculinity. it idealizes sacrifice, violence, and shows of strength and is so insistent on conformity that many feel utterly alienated and even inadequate when they fail to adhere to these standards. it designates men as fulfiling a purpose and centers their lives on competition and transact…

I am currently watching the video, of which I am relatively critical thus far. I am not delusional. You do realize that the beliefs I denounced were anti feminist in nature? that is, I went from what is often described as the "alt-right pipeline," growing up in a strongly conservative household, to a leftist feminist. I have confronted everything I held dear only to wind up back here. I am by no means afraid to confront my beliefs. I am critical of many branches of feminism, such as white femini…

most feminists aren't doing that. the discussions I've had about raising awareness about men being overlooked as victims have been squarely in feminist spaces.

I'm a feminist who doesn't hate men. I hate the system that tells men their lives are transactional, that frames them as always perpetrators and never the victim, that shows them that they are not allowed, even for a moment, to show weakness. that a man is to live a life of attainment, that their primary goal is to elevate status, that shuns them of they dare deviate from the patriarchal notions of masculinity. it is a system that leaves no one happy
/r/MensRights03/09/24 09:45 PM

i am a feminist, I've read literature about the matter. it's given me insight into men's issues that I've never seen prior. I used to be angry about unfair treatment that I was subjected to by men. feminism told me those were due to societal norms and notions of masculinity rather than men themselves. that we are all victims of a system that is made to exploit us in many regards.

do you agree that most of those who are in power are male?
/r/MensRights03/09/24 04:37 PM

/r/MensRights03/09/24 04:34 PM

but femnists, in practice, make it clear to me that this is not what they mean when they use these terms. that's one of the most basic facets of feminism
/r/MensRights03/09/24 04:27 PM

"patriarchy" merely means a social order in which those who hold power are majority male. Feminism presents this order as neither optimal for men nor women. "toxic masculinity" embodies the standards that one would deem toxic towards men, such as telling men they can't cry. I don't know how one would seem that anti male as one comprises as small quantity of men and the other talks about toxic standards that are unfair to them. I fully expect to be down voted, but it's the truth.

no. we hinge on hundreds of years of a society that was created for and centered around a male perspective. there is no literature on it because it does not exist, at least in the capacity that an androcentric society does

you can't just easily form a country out of thin air. women don't have anything to prove, real life women don't hate men enough to do that. when a woman says she doesn't need a man, what she means is "I filled a societal role in the past in which I was fully financially dependent on a romantic interest and I no longer need to depend on said romantic interest." not " hate men and I would prefer to live without them."

greater variance compared to what? the baseline, which is men. I think "hormone variation" is inexcusable. the meds I take for ADHD and chronic pain do not work at all when I'm on my period, which causes a significant disruption in my schedule as well as adds onto the immense pain I feel. also, men have more hormonal variation during a short period, as they have a daily hormonal cycle whereas women have a monthly cycle.

that's not at all what I think, wtf. stop treating gender as some sort of club that treats all members as liable if those previous were oppressive in the past. the systemic maltreatment of women in the medical field and healthcare says far more about fucked up social systems, not men as a whole. yes, medical misogyny exists. stop trying to erase it. misogyny does not equal men bad, women can perpetuate it too and they are key players in doing so. I don't know why people associate with gender so …
