I was talking about the risk people face when they take their case to trial since there's a chance the jury will be the type to think "oh the defendant must have done what he's accused of since he's having a trial" or "He must have done it since he got arrested." It's the same people who think innocent people don't get arrested and arrests only happen when the cops are doing their job, ie bootlickers. It's not just on campus. Even in criminal court, I couldn't show my evidence, which would have literally exonerated me within a minute, until my jury trial. My trial took place 2 years after the initial accusation and in the time between I was arrested 3 times and paid $100,000 bail each time. Don't even ask how much the attorney cost.

Im looking at my options. I got the transcripts from my trial a couple of months ago, which cost a fortune. I’m not too positive about it because even if I was to win a lawsuit against her I doubt I would be able to collect anything since she’d probably choose to live on the streets and be hungry over having to pay anything to me. Winning a lawsuit is one thing but collecting is always a whole different story. It’s for that reason most attorneys don’t work on contingency for these types of cases…

Your story makes me angry and I’m sorry you had to go through all of that. Personally, now that time has passed and everybody seems to have moved on, I’d be tempted to contact the dad and tell him that his actions from being an overprotective father are still affecting you and the quality of your life. His daughter and you were just being teenagers, responsible ones at that. He had no right to purposefully involve the entire school and he needs to know that.
