Wow - I am so glad you posted about this!! I have been contemplating making a similar post. I'm bi, and I'm really thinking about just not ever dating another man again because even if they are potentially "high value", it seems like so much more work and higher risk than dating women. I would love to hear more of your thoughts about this or from other women who have just stopped dating men.

I don’t think that’s what neuroscience states... there’s a lot of emerging research about how our actions can affect our hormone levels and the way we feel. If our behaviors are conducted by hormonal activity and if we are truly irrational, things like cognitive therapy would not be as successful as they are.

That’s not proven, though. I just did a quick google search and found multiple government websites what question the victim to perpetrator cycle. Also all stats I saw that were used to suggest this connection included both physical and sexual abuse, without differentiating one from the other. The closest thing I could find to a study with statistics focusing on sexual victimization in the history of child sex abuses concluded that only 23% of the perps experienced sexual abuse during childhood. …

Also most people who sexually abuse children don’t have a biological disorder that makes them sexually attracted to children (not that it would make abuse ok), sex abuse of children is often about power instead of sexual attraction.
