People need to calm down. Do you realize why this article made the front page of reddit? It's because it's so damn absurd and no one has ever heard of anything like this happening before. It's an incredibly unorthodox policy that will most likely not be replicated in your area. people here are jumping to conclusions based on almost nothing. Take a step back for a second and try to think logically.

Prostitution should be legal, of course. The state has no business regulating the sexuality between consenting adults. But legalized prostitution would probably change little in the way of male-female relations.

A decent-looking prostitute who provides reasonably good service will cost, at the very least, 150/hr. That's just too expensive for me right now. Also, using the services of prostitutes is a coping mechanism, not a solution

Most people spend their entire lives engulfed in a pointless power struggle. People compete for money, status, the most desirable sex partners, etc. I don't care about any of that. I wish to simplify my life as much as possible. There are advantages to the lifestyle I am choosing- tranquility, freedom, peace of mind. There are disadvantages to it as well- isolation, misunderstanding, alienation, etc. But that's the case with anything we do.
