Married to incompetenceHelp yourself. It’s not going to get better unless a force of ‘nature’ occurs. Every day that you sit on your hands, the more alimony she will get. The more assets she will split. You will get fatter, unhappier, and sadder. Sorry this happened. The children’s time will be split, but you can’t set bad examples. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/07/23 07:18 AM
Does this REALLY work?Insane people can get away with this. Yeah, let me gaslight and pressure you with a hundred people, because I dont want 50/50. The poem “if” by rudyard kipling comes to mind. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/07/23 05:32 PM
Can I file pro se and lawyer up later?Right now I’m going as far as I can without one. I definitely want one to before any kind of hearing. With enough time for them to prepare my exhibits and witnesses, as well as prepare me for cross-exam. Attorneys are financial death by a thousand cuts. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/07/23 04:58 AM
i fought for, and got my 50/50 custody. Its looking like i may have to admit defeat and take 70/30.Time with your children is the most valuable currency you will ever have. You will never get more back. Find childcare that you are in control of. Change your job. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/06/23 01:41 AM
Is it worth it to have kids anymore?Sounds like you had a reasonable x. It’s a bit hard to do 50/50 now, but I make it work. She’s moving out of state, so I can’t cover for her anymore. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/06/23 12:37 AM
Wife doesn't want to agree to a parenting planShe won’t get full custody. And you won’t get that extra day. Take the softest of L’s ever and just agree. There is no winner. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/06/23 12:35 AM
Is it worth it to have kids anymore?Appreciate the reply, I was planning to offer something similar for summer. 3 wks at the beginning and 3 at the end of summer. I was also going to offer two weeks at spring/winter break. Also she can visit up to 5 times a year for up to 5 days with 14 days notice. I think the total is about 95 days per year. I would give more but she’s only 2 years old. We’re only able to do 50/50 because I followed her after we divorced. I can’t do that anymore. Any input? She’s deployable and goes to the field… | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/06/23 09:13 PM
Is it worth it to have kids anymore? How much time do you get per year? Is the army that unpredictable? Just wondering because my XW is army as well and is leaving the state. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/06/23 08:28 PM
Should I go for 50/50?Or, just default to 50/50 and make it extremely hard to deviate. Keep your drama out of court. No hearsay. Official reports only. I’m talking police, CPS, or doctors. But we all know that family court exists to drain bank accounts and judges will entertain it.. because they were attorneys too. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/06/23 08:26 PM
I’m angry that she’s happy now and it’s happily ever after.I’ve never been turned away, just into different directions. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/06/23 04:15 PM
I’m angry that she’s happy now and it’s happily ever after.Sucks. Sure. But get after your own life. Thank her quietly for illuminating a vector for growth. Here we go: happiness comes from within. Congrats I fixed your life with some words I typed. Seriously, it’s not new age spatter. It’s true. I recommend reading a book called Happier, No Matter What. To summarize it, don’t pursue happiness. You’ll only be MORE unhappy. Pursue the conditions that encourage happiness. Stack your deck so well that you’ll be begging for a rainy day of character developm… | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/06/23 07:34 AM
Should I try to talk to my STBXW before mediation?Just my experience: Pre-decree, didn’t even want to talk. Post-decree when she wanted to relocate, she swapped from wanting to sit down and talk to… not talking at all when she realized how shitty of a situation she is in. Still going through that. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/06/23 09:06 PM
