Other posters have addressed all of my concerns, but I would just like to say that you are an awesome human thanks for doing this! If no one else has mentioned this, encourage other feminists to do what you are doing.

Yea, this is a good point. Don't explain or justify your boundaries, just set them. You don't owe any explanation.

The fact that she said you were overreacting when you set a reasonable boundary is kind of a red flag in my book, no one is entitled to touch you without consent and you don't owe them an explanation. Like, when did it become appropriate to hug your coworkers anyway? Thats kind of intimate, a handshake is enough.

I'm so sorry for what happened to you. Thank you for being an awesome human.

I too spent a lot of time trying to reconcile different political groups, and humanize them so I respect it. Check out the 2 videos I linked, the aj mahari one and the feminist mra ted talk. Share them with feminists, would really appreciate it. https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=ted+talk+mens+rights&view=detail&mid=9DE1CD7536DE3D7C383A9DE1CD7536DE3D7C383A&FORM=VIRE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkTilnBzSJo In order, watch the first then the second, great material. First is a feminist, like …

I do see your point, but its about the mistrust of that label due to the double standards. I linked him a therapist who is aware of the issues he is talking about, pretty sure she is broadly speaking a feminist too. The label is vague and almost meaningless, not a lot of people are not in favor of gender equality these days, and most of those I have met call themselves feminists ironically. Female supremacists. *here is a video that the therapist made about the issues men are facing due to gynoc…

Right, so you have alluded to different types of feminist. If that is what we are sure. Now go tell some feminists that the mens rights guys are feminist and see how they respond. Thats the double standard.

Right, so this is why we need a movement. In part. I feel that it is best to have evidence before convicting people of life destroying crimes, most feminists do not feel that way. My friend was greatly harmed by that double standard. He was attacked with a knife, then a woman made false allegations, then his life was all messed up by it. I care about my friend, he deserves an advocate. Feminists don't want to do it, so we need Mens Rights.

So, double standards I am going to call out here first. OP asked for a place to vent without feminists. If a women was requesting a place to vent without any mens rights advocates, I am pretty sure no mens rights advocates would show up to say we are for gender equality too! The definition of feminist actually includes most posters here, so I dunno. Gender equality advocate right. I think the concern here is a lack of trust in people who identify themselves as feminist. Which has its roots in do…

Yea well I am a gender equality advocate focused on the way gender inequality has harmed me, definitely call out and ostracize abusive men also. I can't agree with believe all people, some people lie habitually. Some people are scum. Also Putin is fascist scum. Slava Ukrani. I wish Zelensky was my president.

https://www.youtube.com/user/ajmmahari This is a youtuber that is a therapist who helps men with relationship issues, she has an awareness of the problems men face due to gynocentrism and does not call herself a feminist, her specific niche may not be relevant to you, she helped me a lot so I wanted to share.

This sub does not exclude feminists, op requested a place to vent without any feminists.

If what you are saying is that gender equality is what you stand for, I stand for that too. So am I a feminist?

So, as an example of why mens rights do paint feminists in a bad light and why your movement is losing support in society, look at the fact that you are here in a post about a man wanting to vent without attracting feminists. Think about that. He specifically was requesting a place to vent without the ideology you are promoting being present. I understand the impulse to show that other people are judging you unfairly based on the actions of others, and that you might feel attacked by the sentime…

This is a great criticism and makes me think. Ok, so I was not entirely fair. So, mens rights issues that personally affect me, maybe you want to help. I will assume you are acting in good faith right now. So, are you aware of BPD? I was in a relationship with a BPD woman for a long time, the pattern of behavior among BPD women is blame shifting. So, the believe all women thing. I take exception to that. If you are a feminist, and you want to help me with a mens rights issue that affects me pers…

If feminism was for mens rights, then feminists would be listening to our needs and helping us get what we need. Social equality. End to double standards. Equal legal rights in family court. Feminism does not stand for men and our interests. They blame men for their problems and their choices. I have never in my life experienced a conversation with feminists in which my needs were addressed. You are gaslighting.

The thing about war is the aggressor decides who is involved. Its fucked and unfair I know. But it is not actually up to us if we are involved, though I bet the Ukrainians wish it was up to them. Like if we are attacked, we are involved.

Been thinking about the draft and formulating an opinion about it as it seems likely to become politically relevant. Seems to me, if you can vote you should be subject to it. As, if you vote you bear responsibility for wars that may happen. We do need a draft in my view, or the option for it. We might be attacked by foreign powers and need to supplement the armed forces more than volunteers can. So, I would like to propose tying draft to voter registration which can only be activated in defensiv…

I've looked into the law in my state, the video would be inadmissible in court if taken without consent. Still might help against social consequences I suppose.

In my state recording without consent is illegal. Unless in a public place.

Ive been considering this, but then people have to consent to being recorded, in my state.

Well sure thats your opinion. I get that. Not everyone has the same opinion. *When I think about it, I was independent by the age of 18, and most people aren't so I need to check my own bias here.

Its not a legal issue. Its a moral issue. You are asserting a claim to judge other peoples sexual preferences and what they do sexually, when both parties are consenting adults. I oppose that on moral grounds. *As for teenagers and waiting, why not just say men should avoid being alone with women to avoid false allegations? it just comes across as a little ageist is all.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates30/01/22 10:07 PM

You don't get a say in what consenting adults do sexually. Actually.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates30/01/22 09:59 PM

Its not statutory rape to date a 18 or 19 year old, and also teenagers have had false allegations against them, its not fair to expect them to wait until they aren't teenagers to have sex. In number 4, add people with borderline personality disorder.

I mean, we really can't against people who believe that women should always be believed and evidence is not required. Its pretty terrible. Thanks for raising awareness.

Yuck. You do not respect the fact that I have needs in a relationship. I am certain you express your needs and have boundaries. Double standards are gross.

Awesome. So seeing as how college students are proportionally more women than men now, you are advocating as an individual in feminist spaces for preferential admissions for men now right? Since the same was done for women when most admissions were men.

Wow what a double standard. I have needs and my partner should be understanding. FYI.

As a person who has experienced much grief, feel it fully. Don't deny it. It isn't fun I know. You will come out stronger. As to what you should do about it in the future, I have no idea. Right now though, if I were in your shoes I would feel it fully, try to cope without denial or avoidance. I'm sorry for your loss.

I love this mentality. I've been thinking of it in terms of failure is stagnation, I've already failed. Failure is staying where I'm at. Doing things is more success than not, progress is success.

I appreciate you. Thank you. What I appreciate the most in terms of support is the women in my personal life standing up for equality and fair treatment of men. Advocacy for change is great, but even more than that is women who realize the ways in which they have internalized narratives that contribute to oppression and unequal treatment and loyally stand by the men in their lives, committed to being the change they wish to see. So my perspective on being a female ally is to commit to ending dou…

I think the reason most people here are not leftist is because the left has traditionally been the champions of feminism, which has become toxic. Personally, I am pretty left and get where you are coming from, leftism is about equality, not gynocentrism.

Fair position. Did not assume your gender, just swapped the gender. Equality is good. If a person was not ok with gender swapping, that would be hypocritical. That was my point. Thinking it's no big deal either way is a good position.

Racism is bigger than the US. It is not limited to here. In some countries today, non whites have the institutional authority.
