The rule is to post productive comments without announcing your gender unless it is necessary for context. That being said, your comment is very relevant to me. Yes, I have an issue with putting other’s problems over my own needs. I’m considering therapy because I know how unhealthy that is. I do need to have an abundance mindset. I have also aired my feelings out and will not tolerate this neglect if it isn’t sorted out. Thank you.

No, that’s a very valid concern. I don’t know if I would leave if we didn’t live together. But leaving him high and dry on rent doesn’t seem like the right thing to do, wrong man or not. We have an excellent connection outside of the bedroom. Truly excellent. I have tried to be vulnerable, yes. I could be more vulnerable though? So you may be right in that, I am giving too much. Maybe I need to gather some courage. I might try what you said one last time.

Yes, I’ve done a lot of research. I completely agree. Thank you for putting it into words.

The worst that could happen feels like my current situation. With this decision: the best would be that I get a breather from the hope of feeling desired by him and retain my self-confidence apart from his desire. Bonus: his realization that he actually wants what has been maybe too available to him. I don’t expect that to happen. But I think I have been almost too available to the point of being taken for granted. The worst: he closes the gate to commitment.

Right, of course. I think I am further away from jumping into it and closer to the extreme of running away. Obviously I need to do some soul-searching and define what I want and communicate that. But my knee-jerk sometimes is to flee when difficulty arises. Haha, I almost feel as if the universe is testing me like, “You said you would put your foot down when you need to from now on? Prove it.”

Of course, thank you. And to answer your question: maybe I could be in a one-sided open relationship.

Beautifully accurate reading. Thank you for putting it into words.

Wow. Yep. I will think more about all of this, thank you.

This whole conversation perfectly outlines my internal struggle. I agree with both arguments somehow.

This is the other half of my argument. Would he even desire this if he didn’t consistently see it modeled in porn?

Thank you. He talked about going to a professional as a preferred option too. I am much less inhibited about the actual acts versus him pursuing other women like you asked in your first question.

Thank you so much! I think you’re right. Maybe I would be completely open to the idea if we were not experiencing problems otherwise.

Thank you for this perspective. I agree. I would not like that. He posed that he would prefer inviting people into our bedroom or experiencing new people together. I don’t know if he is opposed to having separate relationships, but he primarily would want it to be together. If you care to respond, how do I tell him that? Should we take a break? Is this potentially a fundamental incompatibility or is there potential for compromise?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
