Someone should post: “I don’t understand what women are trying to achieve covering their natural looks with makeup on dating apps. Just admit that you know you wouldn’t get laid if you showed the truth” 😂

We’re having two different conversations. My argument is that both are examples of damaging a child’s body without their consent simply for cosmetic reasons. Your argument appears to be that ear piercing isn’t EXACTLY the same as circumcision so it isn’t comparable. I’d submit that you won’t find a procedure that fits your narrow criteria as there are none that are the same, but most people would consider ear piercing as close enough to be comparable.

Both procedures can be explained that way

I disagree that the example isn’t close. I don’t think either “procedure” should be done, but both proponents say the same things: 1. They won’t remember it 2. They’ll be glad when they’re older 3. Doing it later in life can come with complications. Again, both are dumb, but they share similarities.

Judge Judy has had her moments calling out the double standards in regard to parental rights.

99% of the comments on this post are about how the boy is not ugly and that misses the whole point of the post.

Not really. It’s pretty awfully acted.

I disagree. As common as this mistake is, OP may not realize that there is a difference.

I think you’re missing the point. We can ALWAYS find exceptions to anything. The point of statistics is to paint a general picture that we otherwise wouldn’t have by looking at one individual. Yes, you may have had a relatively successful and drama free upbringing but the numbers suggest that your situation is not the norm.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
