My ex talking to and fucking random dudes use to bother me, but when I found out and realized my “friends” were trying to get with my ex that bothered me even more.

It took me a while to realize I wasn’t a failure because of a failed marriage. I was embarrassed for the longest.

2 kids and alimony. She gets over half my monthly pay between the two. She finally got a job(after not wanting to get one for the past 11 years), so she is bringing home nearly twice as much as me. Luckily the alimony stops in about a year and half, then it’s just child support. But I’m going to try to fight for 50/50 and reduction of CS once I can afford a bigger apartment.

I’m worse off financially now then I was before I got married. I got set back 16 years financially wise. I’ll never get remarried again, I can’t afford to restart from nothing again. Time is not on my side as a 37 year old.

Marriage is BS because of divorce laws. Marriage is nothing more than a way for the less successful to a guaranteed income whether that being staying married or getting divorced.

I went a year, and didn’t even enjoy it when I got it the first time again.

Not sure how you got a VA loan without your spouse (unless you got it prior to marriage) We sold the house and split the equity 50/50 I gave her the car with less miles and paid it off. I kept the shitty car that I had to replace a few months later. I’d just split all assets and keep with the recommended child support amount. Less issues in the long run.

I was about to do the same thing, but I was talked out of it. Too many variables that aren’t in your favor. 1) be best to just part ways and get rid of the asset 2) any damages will be your cost 3) if she doesn’t pay rent, you’ll still end up paying 4) if she gets mad at you, it could make things worse She is basically still just trying to treat you like you are her husband for when it is advantageous to her, she no longer gets to choose what she gets out of you. Just sell it.

Run run run, this women habitually dates tons of divorced men. It’s probably the only short term relationships she’s been in. And probably for a reason.

Read some books or see a marriage counselor, see if she is willing to do this. I’ve been reading a lot of marriage books and self development books, and I have realized not all the blame was her fault. I wish I would have done both through our relationship, as I didn’t really have a mentor to talk to about normal relationship issues. I lived with my ex during our separation and divorce. We were cordial. We didn’t openly date or bring anyone to the house. I tried dating about a year after divorce…

My ex wife told me she was going to have a 2nd kid with me or with someone else. I ended up having a second kid. Fast forward 5 years, we got separated and are now divorced. And I’m paying. Hold support for both. But hey, my kids are awesome! And both are amazing and I’m happy to have had them!

I ghost women if I’ve only known them for a few weeks, and I don’t feel bad about it at all. Why? Because I find myself not having to explain myself why I don’t think it will work. The girls I ghost don’t deserve my time after I have decided to no longer talk to them. If someone stops talking to you, that means the chemistry wasn’t there. It isn’t a personal attack on you, don’t take it as one. I’d rather be ghosted myself, instead of hearing excuses, complaints, or “if you change this aspect of…

I initiated divorce, I waited over a year. Then ended the next relationship after a couple of months. I’m back to learning about myself and relationships in general. I’ve been focusing on self improvement in all areas of my life in case I do actually stumble across a female that I want to be serious with. I’ve been reading tons of books, and realize some of the issues that I thought were my wife’s fault were actually brought on by my lack of emotional intelligence.

Wife spent about $600/month on wine alone. This didn’t include the regular going out to eat lunch/drinks with other stay at home moms. Also doesn’t include the cigarettes. Doesn’t include the clothes and target stores. Im still struggling financially since she is taking half of my paycheck, but it’s all temporary. Next year I stop alimony and also get a heft pay raise. One more year of sufffering and I’ll be in the best financial situation I’ve been in since prior to marriage.

I only had two ask if I was okay and was there for support. I lost much respect for the male population during the divorce and now have a hard time building any trustful relationship with anyone. Some even quit talking to me altogether and keep in contact with her.

I don’t consider myself a schlub at all, but it did bother me for a while how my friends/coworkers started hitting her up openly on social media. They still do, but doesn’t bother me as much. Definitely not my friends anymore.

my ex wouldn't let me follow a diet to lose weight and she would make me feel guilty about spending an hour working out. anything positive i'd try to do she would make me feel guilty about it. but she was always down for me to play video games and drink alcohol (sounded like a legit deal at first until i wanted to progress my life in a positive direction). i'm currently following a diet, and working out tons. first time i've ever had visible abs even. and i don't have to drink alcohol to please …

I’m currently living in a one bedroom apartment, so when they stay over they don’t have all their toys and stuff here. I try to take them out to do things. Zoo, hiking, rock climbing, movies. For staying in the apartment, I pick up new board games, have movie nights, let them stay up later then usual (I have them on the weekends), and talk to them about their week. Also, they both recently got into legos so I try to get them a set when they come over (they are expensive though!)

I’m not giving my ex wife anything, but I am taking the kids to go shopping for something for her. I might even bake her a bday cake so she doesn’t have to do it herself for her and the kids.

I dated a girl for a couple of months, she messed up once and I dropped her fast. I don’t have time for stupid games and shit, I dealt with it for 11 years. I’d rather be single then to have to deal with bullshit.

Talk to your command, they should be able to move you into the barracks in the mean time for your safety. Also talk to a financial counselor (not the one at your command, but a base one) I got a loan for attorney fees. I only put money into her account equivalent to what I thought child support and alimony would be. I wasn’t an abusive relationship though, nor did she wipe out all the money. Talk to your landlord, maybe they will be understanding.

Happened to me to. I wanted to have sex until it came down to perform. I couldn’t stay hard and didn’t enjoy it overall. I ended up sleeping with her a few more times (finally able to finish) and then I stopped seeing her altogether. I took it as a sign that I wasn’t emotionally attracted to her.

Try couples therapy first. If it doesn't work get a divorce. The first year is a hard time, and I wish I would have went to therapy with the ex before I spiraled into depression.

Yep, they don’t understand that your kids our your #1 priority(over them), they immediately want to get married and have kids, or they blame every ex they’ve had for why they don’t have kids or haven’t been married, or they mention how it’s not fair that they didn’t have the opportunity to have kids and try to make you feel guilty about their past choices. It’s a weird dynamic out in the wild.

Half my salary is going to be ex, financially it is a struggle. It’s a struggle not seeing the kids every night. My mental and physical health never been so great as they are now though. There are trade offs.

Do I feel like I made a mistake? 100%. I am living worse than I have ever in my life. I don't get to see my kids that often. I am lonely. BUT... I have not thought about suicide since I initially filed for separation 2 years ago. So I have that going for me.

I'm going through this right now, been on a few dates from Hinge/Tinder, but nothing serious (more of just meeting people, go out for a couple of drinks just to talk to them first). The first time was awkward, after that I just decided to act like I'm just meeting someone for the first time without any other intentions. I've found myself to be kind of awkward in these situations but its getting better. I think its all part of the process to be honest... After years of being made feel inadequate …

Sex was good, but i didn't feel loved. I felt like anything I did was not good enough. She made me feel guilty for trying to grow personally and professionally. But she would encourage behaviors that had no positive growth (play video games, drink alcohol, spend money on stupid shit) but if I wanted to better myself (work out, save money, not drink) she would make me feel guilty. I was made feel guilty for going to college to finish my degree (i just wanted to be able to provide more for the fam…

$600 isn't much. I paid $2k for the divorce. The real kick in the nuts is the 42k she gets per year.

I think its because I'm lonely and have nothing. I moved into an empty studio apartment. I miss my kids (they live with her). I miss her laugh. I miss talking to someone.

I'm having one of those days today. I saw her all dressed up when I picked up the kids. She is beautiful and I wonder why I filed... she wants nothing to do with me now. It sucks.

When I was happier going to work than coming home from work. When I contemplated suicide to the point where I had a gun in my mouth. When I realized I was no longer a priority in her life, but only financial security. When I realized anytime I tried to better myself, she would find something wrong about it. When I realized she encouraged bad behaviors. When I realized my kids noticed that I was "sad" and quiet.

Wtf, why do you have to pay her other things if you are paying her spousal support. (Medical, phone, car insurance) and why so much without kids. Mije also earns $0/month. How long will you be paying that for?

I bring in around 7.5k, child support will be 1048(2 kids) and alimony will be 2036. Total of 3084... i think ill.be living out of my car for a bit until i can get some debt and shit paid off.

This wasnt due to the pandemic. Our lives havent changed during the pandemic really. This has been an ongoing issue for half a decade. I hope we can pull off this divorce respectfully. I am so concerned of ending up financially screwed.

I'm sure she has to agree on the separation date. I will have what i suspect the date of separation was inthe separation agreement. Hopefully she agrees. I need to figure out the housong situation still. Hopefully an atrorney can provide guidance.
