This would be a good test for a new man you want to get serious with. 🤔

Yup. I feel this. Just hit 40 and I wish I could have that time back.

He doesn't even pay attention to her enough to know she has been avoiding sugar! Like wtf man! Men are supposed to be "the superior sex" with "bigger brains" and all that bullshit but this fool can't even think of something besides the tired, boring, assorted chocolates women get for Valentine's day every year. I hope she follows her friends advice and takes the hints he is giving that he's just not that into her.

I agree with the response and honestly I find the tradition of smearing each other with cake to be tacky, degrading, and waste of a good cake.

If he can't cook he also probably has a shitty diet and doesn't take care of himself in other ways too!

I don't get many sexual comments about my career (chemist in pharmaceuticals), but I do get the following: •Some sort of making meth or other illegal drug comment or that I have access to the "good" stuff. Like ha ha ha you are SO funny and clever!!! I've only heard that a million times, and yes I could make meth but I don't!!! •A comment about how I must be just so smart. Also heard this a million times from lots of people not just guys. I just brush this off as it is less infuriating than the …

Same. My ex gave me an ultimatum about how I should get on the pill or he would leave. I laughed in his face. Then begged me to beg him to get a vasectomy. I was like its your body if you want one go get one. The audacity.

I frequent that sub and a few others. Mostly people are cool and supportive but some people are so very bitter and mean. I think it stems from childfree people not being able to say they don't want kids without 1001 invasive questions about "why don't you want a baybeeeeee how could you not?" Doesn't make it right but I can see where they are coming from. The body shaming is very gross and those people should be ashamed. I don't ask people with kids why would you do that in the same condescening…

Ladies if you listen to nothing else listen to this piece of advice. I could have a doctorate now or be doing something amazing but my ZVM ex ruined my life (or I let him 🤔). Now I'm putting the pieces back together and trying to just move forward!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/06/21 11:26 PM

I agree with this but also when I say I'm not like other girls it's usually to fight assumptions like all of us want kids or like makeup or dresses or whatever. I kind of see it as a way of saying don't make assumptions based on my sex because we are all different. I never thought of it as a way to cut other women down but I can see how it can be taken that way.

That's all my ex left with and he didn't even have a gaming system, just trash bags of clothes. Tried to take my duffel bag and I was like, no dude that's mine. Why don't you take your big hunting duffel bag? Oh yeah, that's right, you don't want to because you left it outside to get filthy.

So much this. If you don't know something these days it's no excuse to not go out and find the information when nearly all of us walk around with a computer in our pockets. It's so self defeatist and a total turn off to not even try.

Once all of the stuff in the article is happening, don't you think the love is already gone?! I get that people want to be hopeful but to just keep putting in all this effort for no change is like banging your head against the wall. It's over cut your losses!

Of course 55% of men are happy with the division of labor. They're married to the 74% of women who manage the majority of things. The remaining 45% of men that are not happy probably want to do less.

So much this. If I could redo my late teens/early 20s I would and I would not be in a serious relationship with a man. I am currently undoing and paying for those things that I neglected during that time. It wasn't worth it and it is probably harder now that I am older. There is PLENTY of time for men when you are settled in your career. Frankly there is too much emphasis on young ladies finding a partner and getting married/having a family in high school both back when I was there and now in 20…

This is absolutely spot on. I've had trouble with this aspect of FDS because I'm financially independent and I don't NEED him to pay my way, but that's not the point. The point is to see if he will put 100% forth without effort on my part. It's a perfect metephor for how the relationship will go just like you said. 👑👑

Wow my ideal man would also have no body functions (no burping and farting yay!), he would be sterile and free of STDs, no hair where it shouldn't be, and he would smell nice all the time and keep up his hygiene! See we can reduce them in the same way they reduce us!!! This literally doesn't even make me angry it makes me sad he is so pathetic. Grow the fuck up. Fact check scrotes you're animals too!!

Maybe if they didn't spend the last 40 years demonizing mothers, providing absolutely no support, and raising garbage sons, we'd think about it. That probably wouldn't convince me but it might help other women on the fence. Modern women should be able to have family and career without killing themselves.

Yes! You sound like me. I'm not good with my car or gardening yet but I know my way around a toolbox! I plan on learning a bunch of typical "man" things so I don't need anyone. Oh don't be sorry that was more sarcasm than anything. My ex still thinks he did nothing wrong so that's why I said that. Bottom line, they always know they're doing wrong whether they admit it or not.

I am you except I was 19 and now am almost 40. I finished my degree but hurt my career by living where he wanted to because "cOmProMiSe." I always wonder what I'd be doing now if I had just stayed single or at least not allowed our relationship to get so serious so quickly. Looking backwards isn't really helping me though so now I'm trying to focus on what I can do moving forward.

I also thought of The Handmaid's Tale when I read this. Serena thinks she is valued and above punishment when she is seen by the men as just as worthless as any other woman in Gilead. The men see them all as a problem to be dealt with.

Your post made me think about the past year after my breakup and all I've accomplished: Bought a house and I am in the process of furnishing it with stuff that is MINE that I chose MYSELF. Cleared up my acne. This is the first time I've had consistently clear skin in I don't know how long. I actually have an emergency fund. Went to a therapist who helped me change my thinking patterns. Wow this sounds amazing! I am talking to a derm about a weird looking freckle soon (can never be too careful) and I plan on bringing up my acne scaring on my chin and asking him what we can do about it. Yeah I think so and I think he genuinely never thought about it before because he is a big guy himself. I think for a lot of guys they just don't even think of it in these terms. It's not a thing they deal with.

This is how I explained to a male friend of mine how women feel about men they don't know. I said imagine a man 2x-3x your size coming on to you and you don't want that attention but you are too weak to fight them off. The look on his face when he realized. I felt like I really got through to him.

Tap into that feeling of relief when you are lonely or miss him or whatever. It's a year out for me and I still have days when I am so lonely. When those times happen (today is one of them) I just ask myself if I would go back to that for the companionship (no, it's not worth it) and it does help. I have so much peace in my life now. 🕊❤

I also feel like a mega fool for wasting so much time, energy, and youth on some dbag. All the signs were there I just refused to take off my rose colored glasses. Is she too busy to make plans? Does she cancel and not reschedule? I'm all about giving people leeway because we can all have busy lives and I realize I may not always be the top priority. However, observe how she is treating others. Is she too busy for them also? She may actually be busy. Does she schedule things with others all the time but not with you? Thanks for this post it's making more sense to me now! My thoughts have always been: "I don't need his money I can pay my own way."
