My preferences: Height: 5'4" - 5'11" Income: $90K+ I prefer if his career is interesting, income is less important. Like I'd date a physics professor even if he had a lower salary. Race (if you have a preference): No strong preference, but a weak preference for Asian men Body type: I like thin guys, but as long as he is healthy and not in any extremes (overly skinny, super overweight, too much muscle, etc.) I'll date any body type within a healthy range House/no house: don't care Kids/ no kids: …

I also used to feel super insecure about exes and past crushes, especially if it was clear that things ended on good terms, or the guy still thinks highly of her. I thought all it would take is for that girl to re-appear and he would leave me. I realized at some point, that there is always a possibility that a guy will decide to get back with his ex. Or if not an ex then someone new. There is never a guarantee that it won’t happen. But there are things I can do that can greatly reduce the chance…

I love the idea. You will get a lot of hate for sure though. I have a lot of men around me (I work in engineering) so I’m really bad at things like fashion. I would really love to see how to look feminine while still following current fashion trends. (Which mostly seem to be baggy clothes - so how do you put a feminine spin on it?)

Omg, I am SO glad I read this exactly when I did. I have a Dylan in my life right now. He's been a close friend for many years. He has many female friends, but he always tells me I'm special. But sometimes he disappears and I don't hear from him for long periods of time. I am getting over a serious 3-year relationship, and my Dylan re-appeared. And he wants to spend time with me and do things together that I'd consider romantic. Recently he told me there is a girl he likes and he is about to dat…

Wow I'm really excited to see another woman mention the "women in tech" thing! I'm in computer science, and I've been incredibly frustrated with the situation here. I think most efforts to "increase diversity" in CS are misguided at best. I keep hearing that there should be a 50/50 gender ratio in CS. Why? Is there a perfect 50/50 ratio in every other industry? Are people's interests always perfectly split down the middle by gender? Feminism in the tech industry reached a point where it doesn't …

+1. She is one of my favorite all time female characters on TV. I got tired of constantly seeing women in movies and shows trying to one up men and having a bad attitude about it, acting superior, etc. And Scully is great. She is good at what she does (relatable for me, I'm an engineer and consider myself good at what I do), but she is also nice! She doesn't make it a competition. She has a pleasant personality. In addition to that, she doesn't sleep around and takes care of her appearance. I re…

I wouldn't worry about graduating college late. I also took longer in college, graduated at 25 and only found this sub about a year ago (I'm in my late 20s now). There are times when I feel like I would've done some things differently, but I absolutely do not regret graduating at 25. Employers can't tell that I graduated late - they just assume I'm a few years younger. My peers couldn't tell either. If anything, I was hard on myself because I felt "old", and looking back on it now, I wish I woul…

What's the definition of the first move? In my current relationship, I acted interested in him first. I started a few conversations with him (we knew each other through school and friends). I also invited him to events our mutual friends put together. But I invited a lot of other people too so it wasn't totally out of the ordinary. I think at some point he picked up on the fact that I might be interested. After that he went out of his way to talk to me and spend time with me, especially one on o…

I think it's very impressive that you're realizing this about yourself and calling yourself out on it! A lot of people don't even notice when they are being judgmental or think that they are obviously right and don't question it. That being said, being judgmental doesn't do you any favors, and it sounds like you've realized that. It will make you come off unpleasant but won't change anyone's minds or values. For me personally, the key is focusing my efforts on being the best I can be. The right …

When I think of the "men and women can't be friends" thing, I think of it in the long term. Yes, it can work temporarily. But in the long run, I haven't seen a single close male/female friendship that stayed 100% platonic the entire time. The scenarios where I've seen it work are: 1. Either the man or the woman is gay so there is not potential romantic interest. 2. They are not very close. They might be in the same friend group, and hang out as a group. Or they may even talk to each other one on…

I was never comfortable with online dating. I did some online dating a few years ago when I was supposedly in my prime (early 20s), and I knew I was attractive, so you'd think it would be fun and comfortable. I never felt comfortable. I felt extremely insecure about what they would think of me. I would also feel nervous because I didn't know what to expect from a guy or what he would try to do, so I was constantly watching for warning signs. The guys often tried to kiss me or take me back to the…

Yes, this matches my personal observations from teaching pretty spot on.
/r/RedPillWomen03/05/17 11:20 PM

Exactly! I keep seeing this over and over again. Guy gets rejected and thinks there is some magical secret thing he can do to make her feel differently. There is no secret thing. The only option I can think of is what you said - go their separate ways and maybe run into each other years later when he is a different man and maybe make a different impression. But no guarantees.
/r/RedPillWomen02/05/17 05:27 AM

I mean, if someone tells me they are interested in me, yes, I usually picture what it would be like to be dating them. But if it's a friend I've had for a while, I probably already had this thought when we first became friends and there was a reason why I ruled it out. In the scenario you're describing, the girl turned the guy down. When I turn a guy down, I'm definitely not interested. If he cuts contact, that won't make me fall in love with him. In fact, I can't think of anything that will.
/r/RedPillWomen01/05/17 11:39 PM

It's not a scenario that would make me like a guy. If I already didn't like him that way to begin with, it doesn't matter how much burning passion he has. There is a reason I wasn't interested. In the past, I used get slightly upset that our "friendship" wasn't genuine. Now I know that a friendship between a man and a woman (if they are both straight) doesn't work, so these occurrences don't disappoint me anymore. It's just the nature of those friendships.

I feel like the answer is the same as to a woman who asks where to find a good man. There are no identifiers, you just meet people and date them and vet them hard. And over time figure out if they have the values you're looking for.

Ditto on the feminist agenda. I still have my friends from high school and I don't argue with them about their views. But at the same time I can see that they are still living the party lifestyle and riding the CC, aging prematurely, and are starting to get confused about why they have less and less options in the dating world. A few have commented on how they'll probably be single forever and how lucky I am to have found my boyfriend. I know that it wasn't just luck. But seeing all of this is l…

Just heads up, your post might be considered off topic here. But I'll give you my perspective. If a guy comes off desperate, and is moping around a lot about being rejected or not being able to find a girl, it will be a turn off for me. I prefer men with more confidence. Being single for a long time is fine in my eyes, as long as he is comfortable with himself.

Neither religious nor atheist. Religion doesn't play a big role in my life, but just from personal observations, my religious friends tend to be more family oriented and have similar values to me. My traditional values come from observing what works and what doesn't work for other people and what I want in my life. For example, in high school and college, I saw my friends sleep around and I saw that many guys didn't respect or value them. And I saw that sex wasn't meaningful to them. I wanted a …

If my partner is working on improving himself and that ends up getting him more attention from women as a result, yes that would work on me to an extent. I try to treat him well to begin with so I don't think much would change there, but it would gently remind me that he has other options. If my partner starts openly flirting with other women or returning their attention, that would do a lot of damage to our relationship. In the first scenario, he is still loyal and I can trust him. He can't hel…

I feel like dread is something men resort to when they feel that their SO is losing interest in them. At that point, communicating won't do much because they feel like the relationship is at a point where she doesn't care about how they feel. This then translates into using dread preemptively before their SO loses interest in the first place. That said, anything past increasing his own value (like investing in hobbies, exercising and dressing nicely) wouldn't work on me. If my SO starts openly f…

The socially awkward and unsuccessful with women would typically confess their love for me, usually in an awkward over-the-top way. Guys with relatively high SMV who easily got women would typically just try to sleep with me. Sometimes they would talk about dating or a potential relationship too, but I never felt like they were serious. In both scenarios, being just friends never worked out for me in the end. The most successful friendships I've had with men were the ones where I kept a distance…

Out of all the close guy friends I've had in my life, literally all of the straight ones eventually expressed some sort of interest in me. I'm not even exaggerating. Even a few that claimed to be gay expressed interest or attraction. By "close" I mean someone I would have private conversations with on a regular basis. Just like you, there was a point in my life when I thought it was possible. But then, one by one, I went through the same experience with all my guy friends. At this point, just ba…

I think the part about pretty girls being treated this way is spot on, from my experience, at least. I've been told my entire life that I'm fairly attractive and I've had this exact situation happen to me many many times in school. I work on a group project with a guy, feel like we get along well, hope to stay in touch after but he just stops talking me as soon as the project is done or the quarter is over. Looks affect how frequently this happens, but they aren't the only factor here. I learned…

This was kind of unexpected, but this forum actually made me feel better about aging. I expected the opposite - because people talk so openly here about hitting the wall and what that means for women. I thought it would make me feel worse. But the truth is, I've already known about the wall. I've already known that aging will change how people interact with me, even if mainstream movies try to convince you you can act like a teenager into your 30s and 40s and have it be ok. The red pill (and thi…

Yeah I think you're on to something! I used to date men that were "head over heels in love" with me because I was smarter than them, had skills they didn't have, was more attractive, etc. I ended up feeling kind of like their mother. I would try to motivate them in school, helped them write their college application essays, helped them in social settings. Eventually I would get tired of the effort it took to get them to what felt like "my level". Since realizing that, I've been dating men I look…

Oh man, I've actually fallen for that multiple times. Whenever I heard that a guy "doesn't tell anyone" something personal, I wanted to be the one he would actually feel comfortable to share with. And I would try so hard to prove myself and earn that trust.

First of all, I hope your recovery from cancer is going well. That's a tough thing to face. About your dating situation. I've seen this work out well if the man was a bit older and/or also had kids of his own. A man of your age without kids will be less likely to want to get into a serious relationship and help raise someone else's kids, especially if he is a high value man. He probably has other options with less "baggage" in his eyes. (Of course, there could be exceptions, but I'm talking abou…

Same, I was surprised to hear that. I know that women tend to receive tons of messages on dating sites an apps, so I guess I kind of assumed they wouldn't message guys first all that much.

Yeah that's true. I'm actually really torn on this. On one hand I want children. On the other hand, if I somehow end up single in my mid 30s, I know it will kill my RMV. But I can't put off having children for too long either. Women have some tough decisions to make.

You're right, I should've clarified that when I talk about older women being able to attract even older men, I mean women who take care of themselves and look good for their age. I don't mean women who have completely let themselves go.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like saying you're top 5% doesn't immediately put you in the top 5%. There should be other qualities, and lots of them.
/r/RedPillWomen20/03/17 11:36 PM

Yeah they are generally older men. The one I mentioned in my example actually told me, in so many words, that he thinks SMV is relative. That as a woman gets older, she doesn't attract younger men anymore but she attracts older men - usually older than herself.
/r/RedPillWomen20/03/17 08:36 PM

I actually know men who have been pretty honest and blunt about what they are attracted who prefer "post-wall" women. They are generally older. For example, I know one who is in his 50s who said he is not interested in women under 30-35 because they are like "big children" (in his own words). He is currently in an LTR with a woman who is around 40, and it's not because he didn't have other options. So maybe it's not so black and white. But I guess in this case RMV plays a bigger role than SMV si…

I can totally relate to some of these things. I was never good at sports but always wanted to be one of those girls that are either on the volleyball team or on the dance team or something. When I was in college, I joined the distance running team. It was more of a sports club, but it had a similar feeling to when I played sports in middle/high school. The people were super friendly and supportive, even though I could barely keep up with them. (and that changes as you build up endurance). In add…

To add to your observation, I work in an engineering field and there are usually a lot more men than women in my workplace. I think I only encountered one woman who liked to gossip and seemed to enjoy drama. Otherwise, they were pretty focused on their work and were easy to get along with. (I have only worked for two companies though, so my experience is limited)

Yeah that is similar to how I felt! Normally I go through daily ups and downs when I can be irritated at a coworker for a day, or struggle with a team I have to work with or something else. And I could complain to my boyfriend and feel like he is always on my side. But when I stayed at home all those emotional fluctuations landed on my boyfriend and ended up being directed at him. I tried very hard to control it, but I think for me at least, a connection with the outside world is important.

I think this happens because people get bored. They find ways to entertain themselves, either by picking fights or seeking attention in some ways. I've seen that before among my facebook friends. I have some friends that are SAHM's and they seem to really like posting things that sound dramatic. There is one that comes to mind - she posted something that implied that someone in her family died. People reacted and she later clarified she was talking about a car. She makes a lot of attention seeki…

Yeah, I think TRP has a different goal. TRP techniques for sleeping with women would not work on the women here. I do have friends though who totally fall for that and keep hoping to eventually be happy with some guy, when it's very clear to me that the guy doesn't care about them. It's like they are in denial. So TRP teaches men to sleep with those women, which in theory helps them gain confidence. But to get a RPW, I think in most cases the man would have to give her some sense of comfort and …

Out of those 5, I don't care about height or fitness much, unless it's something extreme (like severely overweight). I agree with confidence though, because low confidence tends to have other unpleasant qualities that come with it. For example, guys I've dated with low confidence lied a lot more and went through years where a woman completely controlled their life, which was a big turn off for me. I feel like there is a correlation between that and confidence. Salary/drive is sort of true for me…

Yeah same! I've worn sunscreen for years, but I really wish I started when I was a teenager. But of course, when I was a teenager, I never worried about the future and taking care of my skin was too much of a hassle. :-) I would also say the same thing about sleep. I took pride in staying up late and pulling all nighters throughout college because I thought it was cool... it's not cool though when you get older and look worn out and exhausted. I think you can maintain friendships, but you need to draw boundaries. I've found that my friendships with women are more stable since most guys I've been close friends with expressed interest in me sooner or later (I think that's pretty typical). I'm in a male dominated engineering field, so naturally I meet a lot more men than women. It's hard for me to meet women with common interests, and when I find them, I always put extra effort into those friendships. But as a result of my situation, I h…

I respectfully disagree. If it is done conservatively, it is not detectable to the "average" person. If you couldn't detect it, how would you know they had it? On the other hand, if you know women who had it but most people can't tell, you have proof that it's hard to detect. Btw I'm not a proponent of using Botox young. But whether it's vain or not and whether we should embrace aging naturally seems like more of a philosophical discussion.

Botox is mainly preventative and it doesn't really change your appearance if it's not overdone (if overdone, its makes you look frozen). I have a couple friends who have had it done and I tried it (small amount and I don't do it regularly, but I wanted to see what effect it had). You look the same, but your forehead wrinkles a little less. As for age, I wouldn't do it until you actually feel like the wrinkles are noticeable. For most people that's not until around 30 or later. I feel like in my …

I think youth is important for men too, it's just not as important as it is for women. A guy can have other things going for him to attract women (like other people mentioned, social status is one example), while a woman mostly has her looks. That's just what men tend to care about the most.

Some of what you said definitely resonates with me. However, I still think the wall matters for women much more. In my early 20s, my mom kept telling me to date older men, but it would've been really weird socially. I had no interest in men with a bigger age difference than 4-5 years, even if they showed interest in me. I was not attracted to them physically either. Same with all of my female friends. I have tried Tinder, Match and eHarmony. eHarmony felt way too impersonal, with a lot of men sending me either 5 questions instead of messages or immediately sending their phone number. Match was good and I actually had very good experiences. I've met a few guys from there in person, liked some more than others and dated a couple. I'm actually with you on this, I don't like lying about this kind of stuff either. It's too easy for it to come up later accidentally, or from some other source. I would recommend what someone else said - don't wait for marriage but wait for a committed exclusive relationship. I think while some guys will be turned off by the count, some will be ok with it. And they are probably more likely to be ok with it if they are getting sex too (once you're in a relationship with them).

I don't know if this helps, but when I was 9 I started having severe anxiety attacks and couldn't sleep alone. I would keep my parents up for hours every night. During that time, I frequently would fall asleep in bed (mine or theirs) with either my mom or my dad, while hugging them. It was the only way I could sleep. I'm a software engineer. I work for a big well known software company. I think there is a good chance most people here have used my code, which makes me happy because I feel like my work matters. =) There is a bit of a stereotype that female engineers are not attractive, don't take care of themselves, and are rough around the edges, which drives me even more to be feminine and pleasant to be around. I think as far as physical appearance I peaked around 25 or 26. (I'm in my late 20s now so it wasn't that long ago). As far as my RMV, or interacting with people in general, I don't think I've peaked yet. I'm constantly working on improving. The worst part about it, to be honest, has been in my head. Not much in my life has changed. But not liking how you look when you wake up every morning can be rough. I think that's actually the biggest danger of hitting the wall - your self esteem taking a h…

I think we are. We generally get along really well. We've lived together for a while and haven't had any problems yet. My family and friends like him a lot so there are no conflicts there either. I've noticed that a lot of people think that Botox makes women look overfilled and plastic looking. I think people confuse it with fillers. I've heard things like "this person had Botox injected into her lips". It doesn't typically go into your lips - they are thinking of fillers. It's most commonly injected into places like your forehead, so it doesn't scrunch as much when you make facial expressions.
