I call my man honey or my love

Absolutely! I’m ten years or so older than you and I remember just a few years ago being where you are. It is only now that I’m feeling like I’m settling more into where I want to be in terms of femininity, and I have a loooong way to go! I think this journey is a lifelong one. The thing I think I have most been struck by is how much slowness and gentleness can be a beautiful and fulfilling lifestyle that leads to the multiplication of your softness and femininity. I have been learning to grow f…

Anything outside of your current norm will feel unnatural for a while, because it is! It’s impossible to completely change the way you move, speak, show up, think and speak and it feel perfectly natural. It’s going to take time, and there are going to be moments, days, weeks where you revert back to your ‘old’ self. That’s okay! You’re making a change and it’s a process with ups and downs, not a binary. If you try to do everything all at once, you’ll feel like a fish out of water, so going slow,…

Of course! I totally resonate with how spending extra time on yourself can seem almost frivolous when you have so much going on. It takes some reframing to give ourselves permission to prioritize the self. You’re worth it! Feeling warm and soft and welcoming and beautiful is worth it. Remember also that it took many years to become who you are now, it will take time to become who you want to become!

I’d say a good place to start would be self care. Slow down, rest, then think of some simple things you like to do for yourself that you could be consistent on. For me, it’s taking a bath, then painting my nails and setting out clothes for the next day. I also oil my nails and lotion my hands while I’m laying in bed before I fall asleep. Build time into your schedule to give yourself a few extra minutes to do your hair. For me this is showering then actually blow drying my hair/round brushing in…

I’ve been pairing my midi dresses with leggings or tights underneath, warm tall socks, slippers, a thin shirt underneath, and a sweater overtop! Sometimes I throw on a linen robe to add warmth without pulling out the pajama robe. Linen looks a bit more put together than fuzzy Pooh bear

Try listening to the Laura Doyle podcast if you’ve read surrendered wife. Hearing the stories and getting a refresher in real time might help. It’s hard to give yourself an attitude adjustment!

When I met my partner, I was dressing really differently. I rode a motorcycle, wore men’s clothes and androgynous styles, always heavy boots/black jeans/black T-shirts, had part of my head shaved, and presented a very intense masculine vibe. On our first date I wore a denim dress, did my hair and makeup, and wore sandals as I wanted to impress him. In the years we have been together I have had a complete turnaround in style. I got rid of all the masculine clothes over time, grew my hair out, sta…

The gratitude still goes a long way! He always beams when I thank him, so I always do it!

My honey loves when I pay because it’s like I’M treating HIM, The funny part is, he pays the balances and provides the money in the accounts 😅

Listen to the Laura Doyle podcast! Or read one of her books

I love Mrs Midwest! And I agree about E Pearl Davis. I think she’s too far into the content generation machine and has lost touch with actually promoting what she’s advocating.

Sorcerous! That’s a great word for it! I almost felt bad it first thinking it was manipulative, but if being happy and improving our relationship is wrong… I’m not sure I want to be right!

I like her podcast. I haven’t read her books but I like some of her ideas about how your happiness can really positively influence your man. I did an experiment where I tried her principles for a week and it was CRAZY how much my man responded and was so happy to see me happy and just wanted to keep making me happy! ‘Duct tape’ and ‘It would make me so happy if…’ statements really went a long way!!

Every man I have ever dated, has reached out to me after we broke up to sheepishly ask for my recipes or wanted to know how I made their favorite dishes. Sorry honey, if you can’t protect and provide and treat me right, you get to miss out! No recipes for you! I know it haunts them, and I am so happy to cook for my man now. Every meal he thanks me profusely and tells me how good it is, how lucky he is, and always does the dishes!

She may have the perspective on modesty that she has SPECIFICALLY because she’s done the opposite and seen the other side. Her past doesn’t discredit her views now, it might make them even more valuable because she’s been through it before. You ultimately have to decide if that’s a deal-breaker for you, or if you can appreciate her willingness to change, and to advocate for what she knows will help other women. Totally up to you! I’d take it with a grain of salt, honestly. We are all human.

My partner only introduced his dog to women he was serious about, and their reaction to the dog was a tell for him to engage further or distance himself. His dog had rear limb paralysis and scooted and wore a diaper. He doted over his pup and his whole world revolved around him (the pup unfortunately passed a few years ago). When I met the pup, I fell in love and adored him the way I did my own dog at the time, and my partner later told me that he knew that boded well for our blossoming relation…

I’d you can’t bear to give it up, don’t. It’s that simple.

Well, at least he said it. Now you know he will never marry you. You are not used up, and there will come a better man who will respect you

You’re not going to become a perfect wife overnight. It’s going to take just as much time to get to a good place as it took to get to this rough place. Keep chipping away and start small, working up to bigger stuff. The load will lessen as you start to carry it better. I’m sorry you’re struggling. I am wishing you lots of naps and you time very soon.

Sorry your watching this all unfold. It’s like a train wreck and it has to be so disheartening to see you SIL flail and BIL struggle.

I don’t think you should take your eyes off your own paper. It sounds like she’s pretty headstrong and won’t be swayed, even by the number one person in her life, her husband. Unfortunately this is one of those situations that’s better left untouched

I’ve been trying to give gratitude to my honey for things he seems to always do. I’m also really trying to not be so argumentative with him, and I think it’s improving things between us. I started listening to the Laura Doyle podcast and it’s changing my life!!! Try telling your honey three things throughout the day you’re grateful to him for! It’s wonderful to see him light up when I show him that appreciation.

There is no weakness in embracing your feminine interests and qualities. Wanting to nurture and receive and host and care for a home and a family is true to who you are! Continuing to shove a opposing shaped peg into a hole that it doesn’t fit in is exhausting! You’re doing so much to make yourself fit the modern woman stereotype, while feeling the call to be a traditional woman. I can totally understand why you feel weak, because that’s a lot of pressure to uphold!! Keep engaging in self care l…

Has anyone else been totally shamed by friends and family for having a conservative/feminine lifestyle awakening? I have all these extreme feminist friends who think I’m completely insane for wanting to be a housewife, respect and submit to my partner, and for believing that the lies we’re seeing in media or pushing us in a terrible consumerist and androgynous direction? How do you handle judgement from those you love? Also, why are female friends so jealous of other women for wanting to be a ho…

I’ve been trying to set the table every day for family meal times. Lighting a candle, putting down place mats, setting out dinnerware, flatware and glasses, and turning on some music for ambiance. I can’t tell you how lovely it’s been to make mealtime more intentional and special! Give it a try!
