The other option, and the one I would likely pick given this example, is to say, “you are right, we probably won’t get along. Nice chatting with you. Bye.” I’ve actually had guys use this on me, and didn’t know it was a technique, but it rubs me the wrong way every time. It makes me feel defensive and completely disinterested.
