I'm just stating the reality of what men face when they go to family court. That is, sadly, generally, the choice they have to make when they have abusive wives.

all true. But it was incredibly convenient that she died in a car accident at the hands of a drunken frenchman, being pursued by evil media, just as she was about to marry a muslim playboy. Certainly put a lid on image damage to the royals. Much like that recent, incredibly convenient, suicide and $12M no fault settlement. Game of Thrones was all based on regal histories of course.

as I said, I agree with the theory, but you would have to break down the nation state system first and have governments based on population segment too. As they are the representatives. Until then, one nation one vote. Vatican shouldn't count though!
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates05/11/22 03:47 AM

Makes sense, and could be a better fit eventually. But while there is one government for each nation, that has to be the start point. Otherwise its just much the same as it is now with the vetoes - which is biggest nation runs the show.

/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates05/11/22 03:37 AM

I hear you, but while we have nation states, it must be one state, one vote in a global forum. The current veto prevents UN agency, undermines and unbalances it as an institution. Ultimately, nation states tend to impede human progression. Geopolitics and conflict do nothing for the majority of people and perpetuate inequality and suffering. The aim must be to progress beyond this. UN reform is probalbly the best way to start.

The court rules according to the richest parent. Like the judge's own parents, love is defined by money, as judge was abandoned to ruling class demands of emotional inadequacy via public school isolation. The family court system is force married to foul, upper class, idiocy.

Its a good idea. Problem is that MPs can't, or won't, change discriminatory systems. Like family court. Obviously discriminates against fathers, and every so often an MP will raise some specific point, which may or not be addressed, but the system stays the same. Class politics is the issue. In the UK, family law is defined by ruling class attitudes, which tend to be loveless, cold and public school. Male role is provider only. That's why family court gives fathers two days care out of fourteen …

there's societal pressure towards family for sure. Idk if a single woman is independent/strong after a certain age - single mum perception possibly which isn't necessarily a bad thing, until you read that a third of them don't want the father involved in the childrens' lives period. having kids is great tbh - we're all too ready to deny our human biology. its all a bloody gender issue in politics and the MSM, as idpol has become the easiest way for the ruling classes to divide the population and limit discussion of class issues. As you say, they both come from recognising hypocrisy and oppression. Politically all conservatives abuse the poor and justify it with lies and illusions, such as the meritocracy. In family separation mothers abuse fathers/children and justify it by lies and illusions, such as the family court. The two are interlinked by way of disposable men and identity politics, which exists only to divide and obscure class politics. society cares more about mothers than it does children. That's the one. Its worth making the distinction between single dads who are defined as primary carers, and single dads who have contact with their children. The latter are discriminated against far more as they aren't viewed as parents by the state, in the UK at least. Not sure how much of a problem this is in other countries, but I suspect similar. Socially, all single dads are discriminated against as they are still not regarded as being as capable of caring as mothers. Obviously ignorant generalization but …

I suppose the semantics are arguable. But the point I was making, is that fathers and mothers are not treated equally by the UK family courts. Likely because family court judges are from upper class backgrounds, where mothers, or nannies, are considered primary carers and fathers are absent. So those outdated and classist views are forced upon everyone else.

Obviously this is a step in the right direction, but fathers have no chance while the whole family court system in the UK is patriarchal and biased against them. Thousands of fathers in the UK are subjected to violence within the relationship. Then, should they leave, subjected to abuse by having their children taken. Most female abusers are narcissists, who exploit the patriarchal family court attitude, which considers mothers primary carers. Post separation, if they wish to remove the father f…

She's right, family courts don't listen to the children. Her father did well to keep going with it. The usual response to the father being jailed would be less contact. His media campaign likely influenced the court to award him more time. Family court works hard to give the impression its not anti-father. Yet the statistics speak for themselves. Parental alienation and disposable dads. Society supports women weaponizing their children to spite their ex. Courts do not penalize them, so they keep doing it. Gender equality means courts should start with a legal presumption of 50/50 shared parenting and no long distance relocation. So many children and fathers torn apart in the current systems.

Ironically, the legal double standard on female-perpetrated violence and abuse is symptomatic of condoned patriarchy. Until it is universally recognised that female spite and violence is as abhorrent as the male counterpart there will be no real equality. Want progression? Stop gendering traits. Start with the family courts and male DV support.

UK - separated fathers. In law there is no right to any child contact at all. Parental Responsibility says that separated fathers have a right to contribute to decisions around religion, name, school etc. In practice, that just means it can be taken to family court on that basis. If anything's disputed, the 'resident' parent's view takes precedence. Generally the mother. The courts don't give a shit about fathers. They don't even care about the children if the mother's malicious & narcissistic, its too much trouble for them. Far easier to just dispose of the father. Father sees kids two days out of fourteen. Mother stops father from seeing kids even for that. Court does nothing. Father gets depressed. Mother uses father's depression as excuse to lose holidays too. Father kills himself. Mother happy. Court happy. Kids devastated. Father dead.

"toxic masculinity" is nothing but a discriminatory trope; a similar insult to "bimbo". Positive masculinity is appreciation of and respect for others, good parenting, positive role models. These, in turn, are dictated by society. Unfortunately our societies tend to be biased towards capitalism and productivity. So, positive masculinity, should be whatever a man says it is. Obviously barring any actual harm to others.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates15/11/19 06:45 PM

Lets not conflate the facts... Fathers are superfluous to modern families. As proved by the statistics which demonstrate bias whenever there is a situation that requires any sort of choice between mothers and fathers. All agencies, and society, discard fathers first. Mid life crises are non gender specific, they're a reaction, by individual men or women, to try to retain some of their youthful drive as they feel it naturally wane.

Civilise : to reclaim from a savage state, to refine, to enlighten. I wouldn't call 130 suicides a day refined or enlightened. Our governments need reclaiming.

DV is disgusting whoever does it. The anti-male bias in this report is shoddy journalism by three male authors. 27% of victims are written like its 0.27%. Why? Because the BBC is the UK establishment mouthpiece, so the message to men is that we're only needed to serve the economy. As fathers we're entirely expendable. As victims of DV? No shelters, no support, no credibility. Family court figures, suicide statistics all prove it.

About 20 veterans take their lives every day in America, or 6,000 a year. A hotline launched in 2007 has answered more than 3.5 million calls, sending emergency help to nearly 100,000 people. 20 veterans a day kill themselves. A disgusting statistic in what's meant to be a civilised nation. What 'civilisation' is it that demands men fight for their country, then throws away those who live through it? Plus the other 110 non-vet suicides EVERY DAY. Free healthcare is surely the most basic of basic…

I hear you, but a bit more compassion please? Anyone who's been through shitty parents and/or the care system and survived is fucking amazing in my book. Obvs yr tough, but not everyone is. You must have seen some decent people fall by the wayside, no? Being anti-natalist is understandable, but not everyone's the same. Most people go into having kids and parenting with best intentions. Most fathers still have best intentions after a split. But then they and their kids are driven into the ground …

Posted this same link on r/tories and r/LabourUK a few days ago and asked what they would do about the current suicide epidemic. Tories : one response. A guy who got irate at the word epidemic. Labour : no response. Understandable I suppose. UK political parties were all too excited this week about parliamentary procedure to consider saving lives. :( The categorisation has changed slightly, however charities say the figures are still under-reported. Looking at the way coroners report, that's pro…

Read the article. They split 5 years ago. He developed PTSD. His kid was moved 150 miles away. He wasn't being allowed to see her regularly. His ex had him arrested after a facetime conversation! He was being prosecuted for that. They restricted and supervised his contact. He wasn't saying "give me what I want or I'll kill myself". He didn't (like many mothers) take the child with him. He was saying he missed his daughter and nobody was listening to him. As usual. I'm not trivialising your fight…

Unfortunately he's the exception that proves the rule.

But this is what usually happens in the UK. Family court makes a contact order. Mother ignores it. Father has an emotional response to not seeing the kid and court not doing anything about it. Mother and/or court say he's emotionally unstable. Father gives up and either walks away from the kid or does this. Judges are all public school. They've grown up with the view that fathers only see their kids for a few weeks a year. Plus they never penalise mothers for ignoring the court orders. idk if th…

Malicious mothers never stop. They're not like normal human beings. Abusing others is their whole reason for living. Once the SO's gone they start on the children, until the poor kids realise and run. See r/NarcissisticAbuse etc

There's little info in that article about how the child died, beyond police stating it was a prior medical condition. So its difficult to know whether his claims are reasonable. However the family court system will never admit how flawed it is. The simple fact is that, too often, social services and judges refuse to recognise abusive mothers, and see fathers as disposable. So faced with a difficult choice, their own bias means they, almost always, remove the father from the children. This is a h…

Now if they can just extend that campaign to domestic violence and the family courts.

They're not deadbeats, they're pure evil. Women who treat their children as possessions and deny them a father should be recognised for the abusers they are. The fact that society ignores, even encourages, this only devalues everything it claims to stand for. So many lives ruined.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
