3	Raising a daughter This hits home. I agree with everything you've said. I'm a new father to a baby girl. I was raised in a masculine family as the oldest child and grand-child of a mostly male household. So my initial thoughts on raising a girl were similar, but I never thought I'd mind if she was appropriately complimented for beauty. In all honesty, I think there are nuances that make it harder raising boys these days. In college, I always used to say the beta boys claiming to be feminists only did so to get laid. Not sure how well that worked out for most of them. You basically articulated the limbic system which is the foundation of the brain. We just have more brain matter on top of the limbic system than other animals, but boy is it sure there.
