The all female remake is a gimmick, the studios know the internet will talk about it- remember all publicity is good publicity, and when the film flops they can blame 'trolls' not the fact that it was poorly written, badly directed etc. If they cared about promoting female talent then they would invest in new emerging female screenwriters & directors, but of course the risk would be too high (notice how the Ghostbusters and Oceans 8 films had male directors) In regards to remaking a male version…

It's just becoming a witch hunt and a sick competition to find the worse offender, no one really cares whose careers are ruined as a result. If you try to point out the holes in the victims stories (why was a 14 yr old partying with a 26 yr old man, everyone knew about Weistein but he was too 'scary' to challenge, CK may/or may not have asked for permission etc) then you get accused of 'victim blaming'.

Are they for REAL? Of course men feel empathy. When I was in hospital it was my father who cried (not my mother because she's an evil bitch), my brothers are sweet, kind people who love animals, my boyfriend helped me through depression. The solution here is so clear...don't go to college! But seriously according to C H Sommers, the statistic for rape on a college campus is more likely to be 1 in 50. The 1 in 4 statistic takes into account "regretful" sex (accounts where women consent then withdraw consent in the morning/ at a later date) so it's not accurate...
