Man falsely accused of rape - has to hire a private investigator to prove his innocence. Cops fail to identify exculpatory evidence. This is a pretty disgusting case. Had the police bothered to conduct a real investigation in the first place, then charges shouldn't even have been filed. Prosecutors also waited way too long to finally drop the charges after it was proven that he wasn't guilty of these allegations. A classic case of authorities rushing to assume guilt and failing to do their jobs properly. | /r/MensRights | 04/07/12 12:00 AM
Anyone else so afraid of false rape accusations that they are extra careful with interactions with women?I'm not prejudging anyone. I recognize that the majority of women would never do such a thing. The problem is that any of them could, and they know it. To borrow a feminist trope, every woman is Schrodinger's false accuser until proven otherwise. | /r/MensRights | 24/06/12 01:06 AM
Anyone else so afraid of false rape accusations that they are extra careful with interactions with women? The point is, fundamentally, that half of the human population should not have the power to arbitrarily incarcerate members of the other half of the human population. All women should not have the power to point the finger and incarcerate all men with zero evidence, but that's the case thanks to the reforms that were made to rape statutes in the 70's. Car accidents are inevitable. We can take precautions to try and prevent/mitigate them, but they're an inevitable feature of a commuter culture li… | /r/MensRights | 24/06/12 12:51 AM
Anyone else so afraid of false rape accusations that they are extra careful with interactions with women? The best thing to do is carry a recording device at all times. When it doubt, turn it on and keep the recording as proof of innocence in case of FRAs. | /r/MensRights | 23/06/12 05:55 PM
Anyone else so afraid of false rape accusations that they are extra careful with interactions with women?Who knows what the odds are. The fact is that it happens and there's no way to protect yourself from it. It only has to happen once, and your life is over. If just one girl wakes up and decides that she'd rather not have slept with you, you're finished. Most people are not nearly terrified enough, given these facts. You say that he is being paranoid. I'd say that you're being pollyannish. | /r/MensRights | 23/06/12 05:53 PM

Another famous athlete falsely accused of rape. This time, LA Kings defenseman Drew DoughtyThe woman's story makes no sense. She says that he forced her out of the bar and into a cab, which then took them to his apartment, where he forcibly raped her. So... no one saw any of this happening? The cabbie just allowed himself to be an accessory to kidnapping and didn't notice or say anything? I think occum's razor applies here. This is either a case of buyer's remorse or, more likely, attempted extortion. | /r/MensRights | 20/06/12 06:06 AM
Brian Banks interviewed on The Tonight ShowThe more exposure this guy's story gets, the better. Hopefully we can prevent stuff like this from happening by spreading awareness about false accusations. | /r/MensRights | 07/06/12 12:53 PM
Girls threaten cab driver with accusations of rape because he asked them to pay the fare. But wait. Feminists have repeatedly assured me that no women would ever falsely accuse a man of a sexual offense. Clearly there must have been some misunderstanding, here. | /r/MensRights | 27/05/12 09:38 PM
Girls threaten cab driver with accusations of rape because he asked them to pay the fare. You don't understand. When prosecuting a man, testimony alone is enough. When prosecuting a woman, not even testimony corroborated by video evidence is sufficient. It's called justice. | /r/MensRights | 27/05/12 09:37 PM
Still Can't Believe itThis is why you never get married... But nope, the feminists are right. There's no anti-male discrimination in the family court system. | /r/MensRights | 17/05/12 03:48 PM
Student who cried rape is spared jailActually, the US Air Force commissioned a study that found "guilt or shame" was among the most common motives for making a false rape accusation. http://www.wemen.us/index.php/articles/views/15-why-women-lie-about-rape.html | /r/MensRights | 11/05/12 01:14 PM
Student who cried rape is spared jailYeah, murders typically involve a bit more evidence than rape. My point is that she doesn't even have to lie. She can just think that she was raped. As I said, women are encouraged to call everything "rape" these days. Feel bad about sex the next morning? Rape. Get drunk and sleep with someone? He probably roofied your drink. Cheat on your boyfriend? He must have coerced you into it, as you would never cheat on your boyfriend willingly. Since you put forward the 6% figure, the burden of proof is… | /r/MensRights | 11/05/12 01:10 PM
Student who cried rape is spared jailIt's not analogous. These days, women are encouraged to think that all sexual acts they feel bad about later are rape. They can also falsely accuse you with impunity. There is no deterrent to making a false accusation. Murder is a crime that is harshly punished. False accusations are very rarely punished and only then when there is hard proof (like a video). The social consequences would be the worst. Being charged with a sex crime will end your life, even if you are never charged. Nevermind, of… | /r/MensRights | 11/05/12 01:02 PM
Student who cried rape is spared jailSo instead we should just play Russian roulette every time we hop in the sack? Just pray that she's not going to abuse her unlimited power to incarcerate all former sex partners? No thanks. You do what you want. I'm staying out of prison. | /r/MensRights | 11/05/12 12:51 PM
Student who cried rape is spared jailThe recording will be stored away and wont be seen by anyone. It would only be produced for the benefit of any authorities, if needed. Do you really think the privacy rights of a false rape accuser trump the liberty rights of an innocent person facing prison? | /r/MensRights | 11/05/12 12:45 PM
Student who cried rape is spared jailIt's not that simple. Depending on the situation, that is true. In most cases, however, the issue of consent is moot. If you ever had to produce video to prove that you didn't rape someone, it's pretty unthinkable that you would be charged for having filmed it. What's your solution, anyway? Just hope that no woman decides to abuse her unlimited power to incarcerate you on a whim? | /r/MensRights | 11/05/12 12:43 PM
Student who cried rape is spared jailImagine what would have happened to this guy if he hadn't videotaped their encounter? These days, a man has to record every sexual encounter. Failing to do so can put you in prison. | /r/MensRights | 11/05/12 12:39 PM
Wife hits husband with SUV after argument over recalls. Chippewa Falls man hospitalized with head, neck, back injuries. Police do not charge, not even with Domestic Violence. They say it's been referred to the CA's office. I would greatly shocked if the decline to charge in this case. | /r/MensRights | 09/05/12 08:33 PM
Feminist elementary school teacher brags about how he discriminates against his male studentsI think you just described feminism in a nutshell. Formally privileging women over men, and justifying such discrimination by referring to an informal and invisible "male privilege" that you're allegedly making up for. | /r/MensRights | 05/05/12 04:22 AM
Brace yourself for media articles justifying lower rape standard of evidence on college campuses are comingDid you actually read that entire article? It was actually extremely well balanced and spent a good deal of time talking about the concerns for accused students. I would highly recommend this article to anyone with concerns about this issue (on either side of the issue). | /r/MensRights | 23/04/12 03:35 PM
