I'm well employed and cash rich after selling my half of house to the ex. I can afford it. Personally I think that makes me more attractive to spend money like I have it and don't care. And really I dont care. I will protect myself and assets when the time comes. Also, inflation dude... Spent my whole life being frugal and I didn't really get that far from that. After my divorce I decided I'd much rather enjoy it while I've got it. If paying for dinner makes them more comfortable taking their pa…

This back and forth has been helpful. I will be more careful. But I have to say after thinking about this deeply over the last couple days, I feel pretty confident in my assessment that she is just a woman, not a maleficent like you describe. Now she may change. But my current assessment is she is actually a good one with a good heart. But I realize it could all change if her feelings or the situation or really anything changes. And maybe it is just all an act. Really enjoying myself though, so …

I designed my wedding ring and had it custom lathed by a friend at the aerospace prototying facility that I worked at at the time. It's made of Carpenter Custom 465 super alloy, the toughest metallic we use. Machinists hate this material because it gums up and kills (dulls) drill bits and other cutters. Anyway, it wasn't strong enough to keep us together lol. I still have it somewhere in my drawer. I'm considering using it for a future marriage if I'm ever so stupid to get married again.

I really needed to hear this. But I have to say the fact that you say with such certainty what her intentions are, and that they are conscious and deliberate, you just don't have that visibility to what's going on. It's suggests that you are jaded beyond reach, and have no appreciation for what a kid means. And that's a good and smart way to be probably. And you may be completely right. Still, I really need to hear this. I know nothing lasts forever and so does she. We learned that from our divo…

I needed a to "talking to" and I appreciate you giving it to me. I've really exposed myself here, and although it's unlikely to blow up right now, hopefully I'm smart enough to not do it again. I do want to have more kids. I've already tried the unmarried White accredited well employed woman, that's who I just divorced for a sexless marriage. This time around I'm going to try something a little different. My own brother doesn't really support what I'm doing but that's fine. Anyway I'll keep you …

Your main point that I'm an idiot is valid. However you have some of the details way off. This is quite a unique case. She's Hispanic and works full-time and only has her kids 3 weekends a month. She actually pays child support to her ex. However you're right about non-contested no custody, if she wanted to push that. However I honestly believe she wants to be with me, and if I don't believe it this time I never will. That doesn't mean that it's true. Anyway

I'm a complete hypocrite here, because I'm already pretty serious about somebody, but you don't need a relationship, and it likely will eventually end in flames. So just stay casual. Better and more plentiful pussy in that anyway. You remind me a lot of myself.

I kind of want to have more kids and she's genetically ideal. And I like her personality for the most part. But I believe there to be some major baggage under the surface not to mention some baggage I'm already aware of. Not to mention she lives 150 miles away, but she's willing to change that. Anyway she's 8 years younger than me and we really appear to dig each other. And my son and her kids get along, we all met camping actually, cute story. But yeah IF she's pregnant and wants to keep it, I'…

This is my second comment. I think you should also take a look at your video game usage, drinking, and although you don't mention it , if applicable, porn use, being out of shape, being on autopilot, and probably screen time over use of different sorts. Those did not help your marriage. Cut back dramatically if you ever want to be in a serious relationship again that actually will survive. But I don't recommend that either.

You mentioned many things which are final nails in the coffin of her loss of love and respect for you. Many things. Especially your crying at the end. You can't get her back. And reading your story bro she's more than likely been sleeping with somebody or somebodies probably since soon after the separation if not before. Like me, you accept some blame for how things have gotten however also like me, you don't know if you had done a perfect job if she still wouldn't have fallen out of love with y…

If you or your friend don't know how she really feels how could we? Actions speak louder than words usually. My guess is she truly feels some uncertainty on whether what she did was the right thing to do with everyone involved and their respective outcomes. I've had a girlfriend for about 3 months. Granted it's a long distance relationship, but I really dig her. I cannot relate to missing my wife like you did even before this girlfriend or the hookups which preceded her. Anyway, in the past 6 days I've had more sex than I can count, including her wearing a cat mask and her doing the sexy meow on command while she rides me. My ex started her prescription drug journey. At one point she suggested that the solution to our problems might be for her to up her medication(s) so that she could be in the mood to make me happy. That's when I knew s*** was over. Drink a lot of water and don't drink much alcohol leading up to sex. Since dating again, I have had some serious struggles to get it up and to stay up, especially with condoms. I believe it is largely mental. I got Cialis or blue chew and I take this with a new partner to take the pressure off. I can last indefinitely and I have to work to come. I have a regular Friends with benefits who I have no problem with anymore. I've been with my latest girlfriend a handful of times and been on Cialis all…

I suspect the fact that you didn't mention sex means that you're not attracted to her anymore. You're disguising it to be more upright and that it's about intellect and connection. Answer the question, are you satisfied with the sex life you have?

You could probably get her back if you tried. But my guess is there's something even better out there. Consider the fact that she walked away as a red flag that that might have happened later.

You would have probably looked at me when I was still with my wife at a birthday party like I was happy. I been watching youtube videos about dating and sex tips etc., especially ones made by women, and it seems pretty reinforced idea that being too nice and too available is not attractive. Woman do prefer a challenge. And apparently they like dudes who are a bit brutal too them. Establishes male dominance. Sorry dude. Don't hate the player hate the game...

Having reflected on the failing of my own marriage recently, I'm focused not on the affair or how your wife was towards you leading into that, but what happened to allow your wife and you to become so distant. You're obviously leaving a lot out about the details of relationship with your wife. Were there other little cheatings that she was aware of before this? Were you sort of ignoring her with all your interests etc. I find I was ignoring my wife. Anyway I think before you get into another ser…

she was obviously over the sex and who I was as a person for years, so after a 3-week silent treatment over some bender I had, I decided enough was enough and had the talk with her, sort of got her to say she wanted the divorce (which she had hurtfully done a few times over the last decade), and said hey maybe it is time. Next day we took a walk and talked finances of it etc. I later tried to backtrack but it was too late. Probably for the best. 1 son,11 years old. Note during those 3 weeks I ha…

Attracting woman is not a good enough reason, and the laundry list of other reasons are " secondary " to that? Sounds like you're making excuses dude. Being overweight sucks and is a problem to be fixed. You're not going to talk healthy men into siding with you with your weak argument. And some good ass is a Great reason to be honest.

her taking her ring off in your presence is really so manipulative. Reminds me of my wife's verbal dismissal of our commitment at times throughout the marriage. Sorry man, must have been so painful.

I actually had a very similar situation and outcome, except single 11 yr old son, and I made ~20% more than her, 50/50 custody. I too gave ~60/40 on assets a) to avoid lawyers b) to allow her to better afford buying me out of the house c) to make it amicable. My 60/40 was even less fair as I had some stuff when I entered the marriage. Whatever. Working out great! What you didn't mention is the dynamic with the kids...I am sure she was a real hard ass about that like mine.

I like that last part about getting away from the mindset of owning. In my personal case I think that was the basis for neglecting my now ex wife as a person.

Others are telling you to definitely get a lawyer, I'm more a fan of working out a deal, filing and final forms yourself, and not paying lawyers anything. But you have to totally understand what is fair or near fair. I don't think you need to talk to a lawyer to know, just read the law and these forums. By the way, if you do go the lawyerless route, which she probably won't to be honest, the paperwork route you want to take is called " default with settlement agreement ". If someone files it cos…

You should consider that the business itself may have some value, you'd have to have it appraised. Technically you're entitled to half the growth in the business's value during your marriage at a minimum, maybe change in value over a longer period , even if you did nothing. I've seen a similar situation play out, and the wife drove an otherwise successful business into the ground during the year and it was appraised at zero. Is her 150K from the business or from an employer? If it's from the bus…

Um accurate answer is no. Went to comedy show and then back to my house. On the way she prefaced not going to get too far, and that was cool by me. Just saw the bags, hard make out, working on her by hand through her pants. I didn't try too hard to push for anything else. It's just a matter of time. Now I should mention this was second date and on first date she admitted her "has kids" was more specifically an 8 month old boy, out of wedlock. She's 43 and had it at 42, totally healthy. Dad's out…

I think you would benefit by saying less, not so much here, but in every avenue of your life. Talk is cheap, and it tends to reveal that you are spineless. I believe you can consciously grow a spine if you try. Habits are key. Physical fitness is key. This is coming from someone who was extremely insecure 3 months ago. I will not try to unwrap and solve why you are so hooked on your wife. Maybe she's great in ways but she probably ain't all that. But I get it, long time bonds don't die over nigh…

Apologies haha. How ironic... you're in a men's forum, say you're not here for that, and somehow still a gold digger in your requirements of romance. The good news is this: the threshold for making as much as you will soon be half what it is right now.

I was higher earner but only by 30%, but also had legitimate claim to 60% of our assets. One day I just had enough of a 3 week silent treatment and 10 years of her growing resentment. So I said to her maybe it's time. She was already acting like she would if it weren't for our 11 year old son anyway, for years. Made it easy. I ended up giving her big on assets in order to let her keep the house, and avoid lawyers and spousal and child support. 50/50 custody. Really happy with the outcome so far.…

Knowing myself and my feelings on my divorce and having read other people's testimonials on the site and others and in person, when I read your full post I see someone who is hurt, scared, mad, and partially still in love. "I will be homeless if it means getting out of this with my retirement." Is your pension valued at more than ~$350k-$150k = $250k? Can she afford the house alone? BTW, you do not need lawyers...you can do the paperwork yourself...that saves $5-100k...

I recently let my wife buy me out of our 5bed/2bed house and started renting a 2bed/2bath with a 2 car garage. I have one son who is 11, 50/50 custody. I am loving it, and I was of similar mind our house was too big for me, too much to deal with, and I didn't even really enjoy the yard. If you can swing option 1 without a refi, that is a going to be a huge value advantage over 2a. You can also maybe get your wife to give a little to make that happen, including uneven distribution of assets and g…

A well-constructed and compact testimonial. Appreciated. I think the negativity experienced by men in response to women's ultra anxiety, condescension, etc. is overlooked. Maybe some of us "earned it" but I honestly believe we can't prevent it and dont deserve it.

I agree, however, unfortunately, in current US society, a) women are being socialized to demand more societal status and more power within the marriage than before, and b) men are being trained to respect women as having equal power. It is a setup.
