I went on a date with a guy like that and was incredibly turned off by it. Seems like it was related to other personal issues. My advice is that it’s a red flag and the tip of the iceberg of immense insecurity, which will lead to other issues

yeah I do still prefer older men but learned that it doesn’t automatically mean they’re mature or responsible

I’m 23 and my ex is 31 and he sucks. doesn’t always work

Yes. Instead you dealt with her games so she kept going. If you put your foot down, she might get scared and clean up her act. If not, you block her and maintain your dignity.

That’s okay, regardless I’d advise to have some baseline unwavering boundaries (such as no drama early on or childish insults), women will find you more respectable and attractive

Correct. Why do you think “shit tests” are an inescapable thing you have to endure? There are women who will treat you like a human being and not play games.

No, it’s good that you called and tried to figure things out, but it should’ve ended the moment she started bitching and calling you stupid. Too much drama too early and blatantly disrespectful. Don’t be spineless.

yea I don’t think you should expect those before you even meet someone. be careful, sounds like you’d let a woman walk over you because “it’s a shit test”. have boundaries and standards for yourself

obviously she was crazy. as a woman idek what a “shit test” is, but either way it’s too early for that—first date really should be platonic, not fair to have expectations or standards that apply to a relationship

it sounds like you guys agreed on meeting there, so obviously you didn’t do anything wrong. imo it’s not appropriate to pick up someone on the first date and she wasn’t holding you to a reasonable standard. The stuff about being a man and taking initiative is dumb because it was the first date; you don’t owe her anything. She’s unreasonable and disrespectful; just block her and move on. In short, no you didn’t do anything wrong except waste your energy. also 8am is too early for a date

i totally understand your first point, but just know that dressing up and putting on some make-up isn't the same as having a cake-face and spider-leg eyelashes. and then you make a direct comment to my own "insecurities" which i feel was uncalled for--this is a female-centered subreddit and i thought i was safe from those kinds of comments from men

don't know what you're trying to imply but single men aren't welcome in this sub.

my first ex (who was abusive) constantly exaggerated how beautiful I was without makeup and would shame me whenever I put makeup on. I once showed up at his house all dolled up and he immediately insulted my appearance and I just started crying, because your man is supposed to compliment you when you get dolled up for him. on the contrary, me and my most recent ex were just like you and your partner now. it was a beautiful dynamic that brought both of us joy—I absolutely loved dressing up for hi…

i truly think this would solve so many issues. instead teenage girls take birth control like it's candy, sabotaging their endocrine systems, and get abortions when they fail to take the meds consistently. ffs

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
