My husband was an atheist and made it clear he would have been fine waiting until marriage if I wanted to…I did not want to but he didn’t pressure me to take that stance. I would be concerned that he is putting this pressure on you during your engagement and showing such incongruence between his claimed shared values and what he is asking.

Same. Typically at least once a day. Occasionally we will skip a day but twice a day is fairly common.

I’ve definitely adjusted my style with my age. There comes a point where dressing too young actually makes you look older. For most women, we get there by 30 and definitely by 35. Although you will likely still catch me rocking some childlike fashions in Disney World. 😜

I wasn’t over 30, but I was close. I met my husband online when I was 28.

My husband is a senior analyst in the healthcare field. He works in casinos on the weekend as a hobby job because he says he feels in much better spirits when he uses his free time productively instead of frittering it away on video games or something. We could get by on less money, but my support of his tenacious ambition is part of what makes him see me as a great wife. I left my primary money making position not long after we got engaged, at his suggestion. I tried working full time again thi…

Most people just aren’t resourceful enough to work. The idea a couple has to have six figures to make it work is bananas and shows you’ve never met any of the amazing people in this country doing so much more than the rest of us on half of what the white collar folks like my husband earn. You think you sound sensible but really you just sound money obsessed and not very RP in your encouragement of women to not honor their spouses and argue with their decisions.

She’s being a wonderful wife by listening to what her husband has decided works best for their family. Encouraging a woman to disobey her spouse and start financial debates because you personally don’t feel comfortable with their lifestyle is just plain bad counsel.

I am pretty sure I read something about this on the side bar…isn’t it standard RPW strategy to not give wife privileges to a boyfriend? I have seen it recommended in this sub in other places that the strategy of live-in girlfriend is not helpful to motivating a man to marry, although RP men opposed to marriage would prefer a forever girlfriend. I’m surprised virtually every commenter is saying there is only advantage to living with a man before he’s decided to marry you…when did the strategy for…

Therapy is good. You’ll get lots of advice about how to be less childish. So, I’m going to just offer the reminder to not let the childlike spirit die in totality. Fascinating Womanhood is one of the main reads for women in this community and according to that book, having a certain amount of girlishness makes men endeared in ways a wholly angelic countenance can not. So work on taming toxic traits you have, but holding onto elements of girlishness even as you age will keep you attractive way pa…

Did you sleep with him during this week? It kind of sounds like that is the subtext here. Some people will say what they think they need to in order to get someone into bed. However, the truth is that even if you’ve talked online for a whole year, you don’t really know who they are the first time you meet them especially if they are far away. Maybe he got what he wanted and bounced, or maybe he experienced that meeting in person wasn’t what he imagined either. Promises of long term commitment be…

Removal is very quick and virtually painless as long as the IUD hasn’t migrated. Seriously easier than getting your ears pierced. If you made it through the insertion, this should be a cake walk.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
