If you’re seeking more info. Power by Shahida Arabi would be an option.

We’re talking dark triad for that stuff: BPD, NPD etc. There’s a lot of good stuff on here, and also SoSuave forums has some good stuff. Specifically for NPD, the books by Shahida Arabi are a good read. The terms BPD and NPD are bandied about a lot, and are often not applicable but someone’s been badly burnt and wants to use the label (I’m not talking about OP), but in some instances, it can really be what people are looking for. All depending on the depth/ shock/ trauma of the experience.

Don’t worry mate. Plenty of people have been there. All part of the game and it’s great that you’ve found this place and will see it coming next time. It’s an addiction, and needs to be rationalised into obscurity. You have the tools now, but it takes time. Was she always ‘nice’ to you, or did she talk conditionally, like ‘if you did this, if you did that’. Did she ever show disappointment in you and attempt to play with your emotions, and manipulate them for her own gratification? The ones that…

‘as a rule’, means ‘generally’ in this context.

You sound like me. I do not have a formal diagnosis of ADHD but a specialist dealing with my son said I have it. I have held down some pretty good jobs as I get on very well with people. However, in a warehouse/ factory environment, where it is multiple repetitive tasks I do struggle. i am a salesman but due to covid I find myself in a warehouse right now and the boss is a merciless drill sergeant. You do not get a second to drift off with your thoughts, which is very hard for me. On the job, I …

when you're going through hell, keep going. Wherever you work there will be lazy pieces of shit who gossip and complain at every turn.

The Rational Male is the book you are looking for. Google ‘Rational Male Year One’, and read the post ‘There is no ONE’. Good luck.

The 'Light Switch Effect' was very interesting to me, and the 'War Brides' essay by Rollo: How women are programmed to get over a relationship quickly and on to the next one; rewriting the past to suit them.

There is a pdf doing the rounds on here at the moment for quitting porn and masturbation. It is lifted directly from the 'Easy Way' by Allen Carr. It is a tried and tested method for quitting nicotine without the pains of withdrawal. Check out Allen Carr, it definitely works and can be applied to many addictions.

I hurt my shoulder on overhead press and spoke to a friend who is a very serious lifter. He had a problem with his elbow and started taking Turmeric tablets from the health store. He was in pain for months but after two weeks of taking these it eased. I tried them too and my shoulder pain went away. Worth trying.

Shari Schreiber has an excellent site dedicated to all things Borderline. It is good reading if you have been in a BPD relationship. Search the name and there is loads of material. I suffered for years, and I do mean years, trying to figure out what happened with a particular girl I had an absolutely amazing, scary, passionate, emotionally violent, obsessive relationship with way back in 1992. Coming to TRP and finding out BPD was a thing answered everything.

Sounds like he may be full of resentment for your mom. Maybe through lack of sex or feelings of impotence. Get him down the gym.

I know what you mean. That surf job exhausted you and calmed you down as it were. I think I have ADHD. No formal diagnosis but a specialist Doctor (in the UK) examining my son said I did after I had a conversation with her. Anyone who has known me for a long time would say i have always been spontaneous and hyperactive. A little too much sometimes. I never did any exercise until I discovered TRP. Now I of course lift but I also run a lot. I have noticed really marked changes in myself on days th…

The fact that you are angry with her is good. It is common for a BPD victim to believe it is all their fault and that they fucked it up. They can have you think that they are your unicorn and you can't survive without them, regardless of the immense daily pain that is suffered. Well done. Keep going forward.

Thomas Hardy: 'Far From The Madding Crowd'. Haven't read the book but I have read other stuff by him and it's a big yes. Saw the film over Christmas. The leading lady in the story is drawn to uncontrollably, and marries, someone she is completely sexually obsessed with but who turns out to be impractical and abusive. There is an older, rich 'beta boy' suitor who offered his hand and essentially his body language is that he is buying sex from her. He has no chance and ends up killing her abusive …

In 1995 (I’m 49 now) I went around with a completely shaved head and a bit of a beard, even though I had no problem up top. Looking back now, it was easily the most prolific shagging epoch of my life.

i got destroyed by a BPD many years ago. I never really figured out what had actually happened and always walked with an emotional limp until I came across this sub. It cured all doubts about that and many other things, and has set me on my true way. Lost 40lbs and lift every other day. Devoured the sidebar and will never stop. Just wish my eyes had been opened over twenty years ago.

Getting over a BPD is hard. I have done it thanks to the wisdom offered in this sub and further reading. Can't comment on PTSD but getting my equilibrium back is where I needed to get to. I ruminated about what had happened in my BPD relationship for literally years until I came across RP. Some examples: http://archive.puerarchy.com/Red%20Pill%20Theory/1418168303_2org8m.html The first comments to this post go down the BPD route. Ice Ice Baby by Vanilla Ice was #1 in the UK the day the first Gulf War broke out. I remember it well because on that day I asked a girl I really liked out and she politely declined, plus I trod in the biggest dog turd ever. You’re close. It is the country next door to Australia.

Just posting a brief acknowledgement. I completely understand that there is a lot more to this than cutting down on spirits during the week.

I've just this week started on strong lifts. Will quit the vape. I drink way too much. That stops tomorrow. Thank you all very much for the advice. Massively appreciated and understood.
