Imagine the constant gaslighting a woman would face if she created a post about how she found out her partner bought porn in college. Male redditors become irate at the thought of porn not being their god given right to consume but don’t think of sex workers as people.

I definitely feel like seeing how men react to rejection is a really important part of the vetting process. You absolutely dodged a bullet here!

“Do you speak to men like that?” “Would you appreciate a (insert age here, works especially well on old men) year old man calling you sweetie/honey/baby?”

Yeah, I think it would be fair to tell him that you’d like him to come to the gym with you or exercise in other ways together- if he isn’t willing to do that and take the hint, then it’s not fair to you or him to try and convince him to make changes that he doesn’t want to. Don’t settle and move on.

“Asking me to unfollow girls I don’t know and thirst-follow on Instagram is controlling behavior.” “You shouldn’t rely on other people to create your self esteem.” - after being told how insecure it makes me that he interacts with people on twitter’s nsfw posts “Setting boundaries is emotional abuse.” I cannot BELIEVE the shit I heard come out of this man’s mouth without leaving him. Never again.

But then, woman are also crazy and stupid if they are vigilant and suspicious of their partners cheating. You can’t win.

Exactly; “yelling” often translates to “saying something I don’t want to hear”

You see those “Her before we were dating/after dating for a year” posts that men like to make, and all they do is prove that you can physically watch the life drain out of the eyes of a woman with a LVM.

Please remember that a large amount of personal information is tied to your phone number, so even if you won’t receive their texts, they can still find your address, your workplace, your family. And they can still contact you from a different number. You can never be too careful about giving out your number.

Exactly. Men who don’t know you are never nice without a motive. Men who do know you are rarely nice without a motive. I know that if I go anywhere and need help, as long as there are women there I’ll be safe.

Oh my gosh, I didn’t catch that part. She’s been with him since she was 19, that is just so sad.

You absolute did not overreact. The way he automatically assumed that you would still be together a year from now is very telling that he thinks he can treat you however he wants without consequence- like you leaving him. You absolutely made the right move!

I frankly hate that response. That relationship is not worth saving in the slightest. Leave him instead of waiting around to see if he leaves you. (He won’t, if he wanted to leave he would’ve left you before instead of cheating on you for years.)

She really came so close to figuring it out. She was hurt enough by this interaction (as others have pointed out, the way she immediately jumped to “I’m not losing it!” means he’s tried to make her feel that way before) to post it online, probably for some sort of validation or accountability. And then her next video is her husband giving a fake “apology” that he clearly doesn’t give a shit about while she laughs it off in the comments. He’s an abuser. He’s abusing you. It’s not a joke.

I cannot stand to be around my boyfriend’s brother and his partner for this reason. Love them in theory, but can’t stand to be in the same room as them. I’m sure she’s a lovely person on her own, but I’ve only ever interacted with her when she’s with him, and she’ll mimic all of his worst traits. If you ask either of them a question or start a conversation, they’ll basically turn to each other and talk about it amongst themselves, excluding you from your own conversation, and I KNOW she gets it …

I have never in my life had a man try to befriend me who did not end up having romantic or sexual feelings for me. “She’s just a friend” doesn’t work when I know that I was “just a friend” to you too.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
