| 1 | Why are pastors shaming single men?I'm not even a Christian (raised as one though) but orthodox Christians accept the authority of the Canon on the basis of its authors being apostolic. According to this line of reasoning, Paul's writings are authoritative because he was an apostle of Jesus. While he was not one of Jesus's 12 disciples, he claimed to be an apostle, and he was accepted as such by some of Jesus's disciples. They dogmatically accept all of the Canon at face value, so it's irrelevant to them whether or not Paul knew Jesus.
