My first software engineer job I got after applying to 250 jobs and doing something like 30 interviews in total, and I ended up with a great salary and bonus, and stocks. All without a degree. There really isn't an excuse for most of them. I'm a senior software engineer at a T1000 company, I get recruiters sliding in my DMs almost every day, and I'm not talking about the general recruiter spam, but highly specific in-house recruiters.
