1	Should child support be illegal? Title IV-D Social Security Act. The federal government pays 2-8 dollars to the state government for every dollar the state collects In child support. If it’s a flat rate, state governments wouldn’t get more of their federal moneys. More child support taken, more the state gets. 6	Should child support be illegal? States collect money from the federal government, I believe it’s 2-8 US dollars for every 1 dollar that is collected in child support. The money the federal government is using to pay the states is from social security.
