I played to the rules, and I lost. Yup. That's why those rules are what they are. So much internalized misogyny in this, delicious. Love the "she babytrapped a man without the actual trapping" hahahaha. Yes, she had a baby with a man, it's psychopathic! This entire time she was internally mocking her "friend" for taking what she wants. To be clear, I do feel bad for her.

Can one even call this confirmation bias if you're applying it to a completely made up situation? We weren't even discussing marriage upthread until you brought it up. Yes, definitely 100% of women didn't pursue fuckbuddies for marriage because they didn't make money. Right. As if sexual confidence isn't positively correlated with overall confidence and overall confidence isn't positively correlated with financial success... (Hint: Oh wait, it is)

We never said marry, but sure let's pretend? She wanted to lol. What's confusing/mysterious? (Hint: nothing at all.)

If his goal is to fuck, and he isn't fucking, he should fuck off, sure.

Comparison is the thief of joy! The fault still lies with Rob, not the woman, she's not entitled to service every man she meets.

That's an awful analogy because relationships aren't compartmentalized like businesses are. What? They sure are. I don't fuck family, I don't touch strangers, I don't fuck anyone unattractive, I don't ask my grandparents out to music festivals. One man meets all of your criteria, you make him wait three months to get the job. This is the ridiculous part. If he did meet all the criteria he would get it! How do you know he did? Why do you blame the boss for the 3mo period it took to build trust?

What an insightful point. Yes, it's literally my point. If someone doesn't want to sleep with you, they don't want to sleep with you. The dealership probably expects that there will be some other customer they can scam into buying this used car. "Scam" being an analogy for going on a date with someone and not receiving sex after. Women don't say "take me out to dinner and I will fuck you", it's "take me out to dinner so we can get to know each other". If you don't want to pay for that, don't do …

My potential girlfriend is not my boss lmfao. The fact you even see it that way is kind of ironic. That is exactly what is being challenged in this post. The power dynamic that exists in dating yet refuses to be acknowledged honestly. The "power" in this analogy being the ability to fire someone. You can dump someone, you can get dumped by someone. My analogy was gender neutral, so where is that power dynamic? I don't see it.

What's the point of an analogy if it's so ridiculous? That dealership obviously didn't want that guy's business. But car dealerships aren't actually in the business of turning down money lol. That situation would literally never happen. Maybe the "beta who is putting in work" didn't actually have anything to offer? Maybe the point of dating is to figure out what that offer is? Maybe some men are obviously more valuable than others? A better analogy is employment. If you have a group of employees…

If that's the point they were making, the bit about the trashed interior was entirely unnecessary. It's enough to say "they didn't let me test drive the vehicle but they let Tony test drive it :(". Then go to another dealership, they obviously don't want your business. I wonder why they'd include the bit about the trashed interior at all, and if perhaps there's something else they want to say but are too afraid to say it? I think you were alluding to this point when referring to the "whole other…

I'm not. The seller expected a new car, the car they got wasn't actually new. You date someone with the expectation that they're single. Single literally means they are able to date other people, have sex with other people.

Nothing? I can go fuck my husband right now and sit back down at this computer and there's no analogy of "Dings, scratches, transmission is going out, tires flat, and the interior reeks of old cigarette smoke" on my body..? What are you even imagining?

How does this make sense to you? What do you think happens to a woman's body after sex?
