DCA into stocks you already own since you know them, That's what i'm doing. I didn't think i would see another buying opportunity, like this in my lifetime. In 1987 i bought in on black monday. At 33 yrs of age. Retired at 55 in 2010. Just to add always make sure you have 6 months salary to live off of. Any thing after that is investable. You can also pick up some high quality stocks right now at good prices. Based on previous market bottoms we are close so i would dca into any new investments .

Retired @ 55 condo on the beach and hike the Appalachians 5-6 weeks a year. Whitewater rafting , Walk 4-7 miles 4-5 days a week to keep me in shape. Plenty of stuff to do between sports venues and exploring my interests. The best part is I can plant my butt on the couch and watch football all weekend without a honey do list screaming in my ear. Plan on doing slot canyons during cooler weather.

Yes, It is beautiful.. I live in myrtle beach and have been exploring Pisgah National Forest the last 3 years... I also made the round trip 7 mile hike to profile view at Grandfather mountain this trip.. At 65 i did have to sit down at the river and drink some cool mountain water on the way back. My original intent was 4 miles to foscoe cove view but, I couldn't see anything and hiked the other mile and a half. I love it too! Go Canes!!!!...

Good Job!!! I too grew up on the streets of Boston in the 60's. Retired at 55 with only a high school education. I loved to invest in rare coins as a child with my newspper and shoeshine money. The old man in the nuismatic shop on tremont street gave me a college education on inflation and i put that opportunity(knowledge) to use.

You need to set yourself goals, things you wanted to accomplish and haven't yet. Best thing that brought me out of my depression was setting a exercise schedule. Once i got my strength build back up i started hiking various parts the Appalachians 2 years ago. It is fun even at 64. There is always fun things to do where ever you go. Make a plan and do it. Start out with small steps and don't overwhelm yourself and before long you'll mentally be able to take on the bigger challenges.

Yes, I made the hike up cliff trail overlook. As most of the other spots where closed, due to winter and spring storm damage I managed to fit 2 day hikes in by checking the national park service for open trails and hikes in area. Will have to go back plenty more to see.
