The getting drinks only advice is spot on. You don't want to get stuck in a long and expensive dinner with someone you don't like. With drinks you can escape and at least salvage your night by meeting up w/ friends later in the evening. This strategy has saved me a few times especially in NYC where some girls just look for free nice dinners so don't be an idiot and think she likes you cause you're taking her to a fancy restaurant.

The short version is: online dating is heavily skewed towards women and shouldn't be a final determining factor for "giving up". Guys who might not do so great on online dating can do much better in person through demonstrating value via confidence, money, or a host of other reasons. Not doing well on tinder does not mean much. I mean look at you, an idiot like you got a gf so you are your own retort.
