Case Study of Dating Mr. Sensitive, Part I: Weaponized TraumaThank you so much for speaking about this — I feel like this is a method of manipulation that’s hard to talk about bc we don’t want to sound like we’re “ignoring mental health needs” but we’re not!! We’re standing up for ourselves in situations where the vocabulary for mental health is leveraged in order to describe a scenario in a way that provides a “right” and “wrong” reaction. I loved your response and how you worked through it — I’m so sorry that you experienced this and I’m glad you’re out… | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 17/01/22 07:41 PM
Bodyshaming and -negging: It has nothing to do with what you look like, but you NEED to leave at the first sign of it.Surgery for YOU because OTHERS can’t manage themselves?? I’m so appalled and so glad that’s your ex!! | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 08/01/22 07:56 PM
NEVER EVER assume that you’re the exception to the rule. This really just hit me. I’ve been lucky enough to meet a few men who were kind and compassionate for the people around them, but I just tallied it up and none of them were straight, and they all had exceptional women in their family and life. I’m not saying that’s automatically clearing non-cishet men (it really really isn’t) but instead this drives in just how difficult it would be to find and date a man who actually would respond to your pain in the way you would respond to his. | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 10/12/21 05:28 AM
Reminder: never chase men, this is what they actually think when you initiateI finally realized that it’s not that we are particularly “flirty” or even accidentally appearing interested, it’s literally that making eye contact makes them think you’re interested and they WANT to have that scenario where they brush off your “affections” and walk away with you tearfully thanking them for listening or whatever. | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 09/12/21 11:23 PM
Story time: do not EVER date a man who admits to cheatingIs your bf planning on telling either/both of the women? I can’t even imagine how I would react if someone told me that at work, or even working somewhere that was even remotely able to be said! To be fair, I’ve worked mostly in women-dominated areas so far but the part about not showering in order to harm his girlfriend is just so gross I wouldn’t want to touch anything the man has held! | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 02/12/21 04:50 AM
Disappointed by my date todayThis is awfulllll I hate that people feel comfortable doing this to girls literally the age of their grandchildren and also in!! High school!! It’s such a weird dynamic and it’s difficult to say something against without also sounding rude (which I remember not wanting to be because I was already stressed out meeting the family at all…) even tho it isn’t rude at all. Nowadays I just shut it down but I still feel a little sad for the younger me. Why do any men think this is okay to do at all lol … | /r/FemaleDatingStrategy | 27/11/21 08:58 PM
