Lawyers know how to fight for your rights. Some states actually push for 50/50. They've learned that having the father in the kid's life as much as possible is important for their development. So unless your wife has some bad stuff being held against you, then you more than likely will be able to get 50/50. But yeah, lawyer up. I've heard you get screwed otherwise

I'm at a $4k retainer $320 an hour. We are hoping to keep it amicable as possible. 50/50 with the kids. Paying her less than 1k in Alimony and me keeping the house (giving her half of the equity) are going to be to be the 2 factors that may draw this out. Hopefully not though. Hopefully she's reasonable with that stuff
