I'm a musician. I majored in music in college and have played in a few bands since graduating. For me and most musicians I know, half of the joy of playing music is performing for others - seeing people appreciate your hard work is so rewarding. It's also very special when my family and friends are there to support me. My husband has been to almost all my performances, large and small, since we started dating about a decade ago. Your boyfriend has given the weirdest excuse I've ever heard. Somet…

I'd say over half the dresses I own are from goodwill. I've found a PLETHORA of all kinds of dresses there - my favorites are the casual ones from the 80s/90s that have thicker material - they're better made and also have pockets...for $4!

I've been on a HUGE Amazon dress kick. For $20 you can get some awesome dresses that have pockets!! (I own so many dresses already that if I buy any new ones I refuse to get them unless they have pockets, haha.) I ordered a couple long sleeve, long length A-line ones back in winter because I was pregnant, and wanted some easy casual clothes to wear around that could also carry my cellphone. I loved them so much now I own a rainbow of colors in different styles, and there's also floral prints! It…

This is perfect. The weekend before I got married I got incredibly sick. I threw up on my fiancé TWICE. After the second time I felt much better, and I thanked him and immediately went to clean up everything. He still married me the next week, thankfully :)

Or she could be young and going through a phase - or a big extrovert - or any other number of complicated factors. It's quite hard to diagnose someone's mental condition with only a few sentences.

I am not sure how old you are, or what kind of guys you're attracted to, but it simply could be a communication issue. My fiance and I struggled with this for a while - physical touch is my "love language" (5 love languages - great book, by the way), but he is not necessarily great at reciprocating. In the first few years of our relationship and even recently it tormented me. It's been slowly getting better (thanks to couples counseling and an intense love for each other), but it's something we …

Oh wow, that's really awesome. Especially since the theory really emphasizes that your worth goes down after your twenties. Well, maybe not your worth...but that's sure what it seems like after reading everything :/

I used to approve of and even participate in slut-shaming. Not because I thought it made it harder for me to get a man (I am an unintentional serial monogamist so I haven't been single much for over half my life), but because I did indeed consider sex special and just a had lesser regard for males OR females who just gave it away at the drop of a hat. Now that I'm older and met LOTS more people, I've discovered some people are perfectly happy (or, at least put on a good show of it) living their …

It's late and I just saw this so in the interest of getting to sleep I will post the simplest and most delicious recipe I know, slow cooker shredded chicken tacos. Just two raw chicken breasts covered in pace picante sauce (I like medium) with some taco seasoning mixed in to taste. Then you put it in the cooker on high for 4 hours, or low for 8. When it's done you use two forks to shred the chicken and you're done! Serve it up any way you like, in burritos or tacos or go low carb by putting it o…

I second this. The best way to find people like this is to just join groups. Whatever you're into. For me, it is choir! For others, it could be knitting (I don't know what the cool kids are into these days)

Something that shocked me when I first started working out was how much more energy I had during the day. Not only that, but I slept better at night, too. Before I joined crossfit I had trouble motivating myself to do much of anything, but for me personally I needed classes to give me the accountability to keep working out.

I'm definitely not sold on RPW, either, but I do embrace the ideal that both men and women should work on being their best self. What I was gonna say doesn't have anything to do with RPW, though, haha. I've found my hair is easier to style when long. I'd had long hair all my life but when I cut it, all these strange curly spots on my head I never knew about began to rear their ugly head (or ends, rather). I also use cornstarch as dry shampoo (my favorite is the lavender scented cornstarch baby p…

Can you say what age or age range, specifically, is the "certain age?" I have interacted and became acquaintances amongst many different social circles in my life. It appears to me that the less educated, and if I dare say, generally trashier girls tend to be the ones who try to sabotage and backstab other girls. It also seems like this can happen in the teenage years most frequently, but I turn 30 this year and am quite saddened to see some women still do this. Then their children witness it an…

I was raised by my grandparents and they had such a weird blend of traditional gender upbringing and feminism. My grandma said I should ALWAYS pay my share on a date with a boy. Always. She would even give me money if she didn't think I had enough to be able to do it at a particular restart aunt. On the other hand, her dress code for me was stricter than my schools and she said nothing good happens after ten o clock, too.

I agree with almost every other point here, and vehemently disagree with a few. One of them - Other women my age will always be my rivals? Why? My fiancé is my best friend and my biggest cheerleader, but my best gal pals (my age) lift each other up and are an enormous support system. We would do anything for each other. I once heard that girls catfight, and women rise above to try and understand, not fight, and even support each other. (Okay, that's not the quote verbatim, but it went something …
