Yes, that's the point. Older, childless, female villains - examples immediately come to mind. But a neutral or even good character? You have to think about that for a bit.

Well, recently a post about sexual harassment of women received about 9,8k upvotes and about 40 awards. A similar post about sexual harassment of men made only 10 hours later received about 45k upvotes and over 300 awards. That's just it, I give up on the internet, it's a lost cause. I try to make a difference in real life instead, donate to charity or volunteer work. At the end of the day, it's real life that matters.

When I was a kid I loved Greek and Egyptian mythology as well as Samurai. But then I learned the role of women in those and could never really enjoy them again. If you don't feel represented or can't identify with something you simply loose interest.

What an amazing woman. I always found history lessons at school very exhausting. It was almost always about the deeds of great men and the oppression of women. And what does that do to young girls and boys who are constantly being taught how worthless women were in history? I know it's important to learn history to not make the same mistakes. But the way and what it's taught sets the seed in young peoples minds about certain gender roles.

Funny how a few days ago there was a post on the front page by a man, claiming that only boys are taught how to treat women, while women are totally self centered and don't now how to care for other. I wish he could read that article and see exactly what boys are taught!

Actually, that's a really good idea. I saw criticism, comments and hate towards these movies from people who HAVEN'T WATCHED them. Edit: Suggestions for other movies receiving hate from people who haven't watched them: Ocean's 8, Ghostbuster (2016) or even just the idea of a female James Bond. It's ok to watch them and don't like them for xx reasons. But if you simple don't like the idea of them and, thus, didn't watch them - then shut up 😩

It bugs me that we still see man as the ideal. Society is focused on making woman conform to man. Woman can dress like man, work like man and date like man. And of course that's good, but it shouldn't be a one-way street that woman take on all the characteristics of man but we don't change the male image. Maybe we should take a look at what characteristics man should adopt from woman, such as emotional availability, communication, caretaking etc.
