I learned to behave a certain way in Highschool. I learned how to seem cool and interesting. Nothing changed when I found "pick-up." I just updated my learned behaviors and kept trying to seem awesome on the surface. Took a long time before I broke away from that thinking. Eventually I realized I was trying way too hard. From there I learned to relax and be myself, now I focus on forming natural human connections with other people. Next time you're out socializing, step back and catch yourself t…

As for the word itself, I think it's short for kinesthetic something.

I like it. Mindset is "Nothing around me worries me, I feel in control."

I went over this. I agree with you.

puntingbaxter, man this is just not working out. I'm not getting across. Bang whoever you want, go bang and bang until you can't bang anymore. Go for it, just don't turn women into these alien creatures with shit-tests and weird female logic we'll never understand. I'm wandering out of this thread now, I think you get what I'm saying.

Hell no, god you think I'm a dick. Do you think I'm a dick? I'm not a dick. Anyway, I understand where you're coming from too, I'm not a one-sided advocate. Why do you think I'm subscribed to the damn subreddit? I love this stuff, but I think forcing an interaction is weird and unnatural. Some guys have to do that at first, but you move past that eventually. Seduction doesn't stay a game if you let yourself grow as a person. There's more to life.

You don't understand shit-tests at all. Alright, You're this cool, attractive and challenging guy. You're exciting and fun, you're no push-over, at least that's how you're presenting yourself. So because you're this fascinating challenge of a guy, she's trying to be a challenge too because that's just human nature, this is how flirting works. The only way you fail one of these dumb "shit tests" is by being incongruent... and what does that mean? Means you've been putting up a front, pretending t…

Doesn't need to be a game. Well, ok. By all means don't take life too seriously. I'm there, everybody takes life way too seriously. But here's the problem with treating this like a game, that mindset's inherently dishonest. You're not being yourself because you're too busy trying to get something from her. Romance doesn't need to be that forced, you can be natural. You can be a human being first and a pick-up artist second. Do you see what I'm saying here?

Yeah yeah, but your attitude sucks, I mean dude, you sound actually angry. And entitled. That's why women don't like pick-up. Not because nerdy Billy's learning what works, but because now he thinks seduction's a game and they're his prize for winning. This is a respect thing, and you need to stop viewing women as adversaries. That attitude will only hold you back in the long run.

Ok lets be honest, pick-up as an idea... totally disrespectful, just on a basic, human level. Here's the natural, respectful version of pick-up: See a beautiful woman. Wow, I feel physically attracted to her. But she's a person and there's more to her than that. So I'm going to approach her, because I need to know more before I'm ready to have sex with her. Hotness isn't the only checkbox on my list, I prefer to feel attracted to the whole person. Alright so I'm curious, I invite her to coffee s…

I've pulled the opposite maneuver. I was getting drenched, so I commandeered these two girls and stood under their umbrella. Not quite as smooth but still works.

They mesh well together, but Improv's all about teamwork and telling a story, less about your individual performance. I recommend doing both.

I don't know man, we're defined by our actions, and usually those actions outline certain adjectives, like bjimag's "talented, outgoing... chivalrous" thing. I'd say awesomeness doesn't come from nothing.

To me, this post is more helpful than 99% of the material I see on this subreddit. I would love to see more of this in the future.

This relationship contract seems very arbitrary. I tend to dislike abstract logic because it very rarely follows reality. Life is very short, and if your relationship made her unhappy, she may act how she pleases. "Morality" refers to the complex web of harm and benefit, her actions hurt you but many other factors come into play. Her life is her life, and if she broke her "contract" to you then you need to reexamine the contract. I've noticed that these contracts almost always cause more harm th…

Not our duty to police the users. Should we present our knowledge as a force for good? Yes we should, but our duty ends the moment these guys log off their computers. Seduction implies understanding other people, and such an understanding usually creates its own morality. The assholes will learn this sooner or later, we're here to teach them.

This man gets it :) Also note: What he could not express with words, he invoked through description. To see more of this, read John Gardner's the Art of Fiction. I see it this way. Readers half-know many things, we can cut lots of corners by referencing their half-knowledge, and providing the other half. This way we can easier wrap words around intangibles. Readers will think to themselves "Hey, sounds familiar. I know what you mean."

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
